Petrol Station

Do we have a petrol station now?

It could either be a Samuel Beckett piece of abstract OPing...or the OP could refer to the now non-existent petrol station that used to exist just a few yards from the ground. No idea why or what for, but the world changes and those familiar bits of architecture we could once rely on vanish to be replaced by.....?

Ffs stop it with cryptic corner. What the **** are we talking abart?

It like someone pointing in the sky and I'm looking up thinking what? What?

There are other threads I could be reading but I wanna know what this ones abart?

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, 'There is no reason
And the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might have just as well've been closed

And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

I'll sincerely miss being grossly overcharged for bottled soft drinks and confectionery.

The hole in the wall was a godsend too.

I once saw one of those mobile hot dog stalls on fire under the subway near there. Was so funny. The poor bloke was pushing it fast to try and make the fire go out.

I've found that petrol station sinister ever since some poor sod was murdered there.

You mean in October 2001? I drove my car in that petrol station (about 2.30am on the way back from a party in Scunthorpe) just before the murder happened. Saw the poor victim lying on the floor and a group of women (one or two of them were off duty nurses) running to his aid. He died two days later. Never forgot

That song has never been the same for me since I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue highlighted the fact that in can be sung to the tune of The Muppets.

Seriously, try it.

It can also be sung to Bach's Air on a G String.

It's so that Quiffy's dad can have the opportunity of seeing James Beattie or Billy Sharp or Michael Brown / Tonge and keep all the rumours closer to home

We're after Argos next
