China international defender, Zhang Yaokun, will play on loan for English Championship side, Sheffield United, after a three-day trial with the team.
According to a report from Chinese portal, Sina.com, Zhang was loaned from Super League club Dalian Shide on a deal worth 100,000 US dollars.
Under the agreement between the two teams, Zhang will play three months for the Blades.
The 24-year-old has played more than 30 times for China. Zhang follows veteran Hao Haidong to become the second Chinese to play for the Blades.

He's the right age. Let's hope he's good.

yeh, hope he is good.

Need a player with last name "Dong" though!

Dont know if i can see him getting in the 1st team much it looks more of a PR stunt to make us look even better over in china.

Well you never know, Haidong is purely for marketing purposes but if we'd have bought him 5 or 6 years ago he'd surely been a part of our 1st team plans - he's scored hundreds of international goals, hasn't he? So as for the defender, at 24 playing for his country, I'd be surprised if we didn't have more serious plans for him.

Very unlikely to be a PR stunt... He's the right age and an international. Probably at the moment signing for cover over the important few months :)

Mmm but i bet warnock would rather get someone like halls or lucketti in at defence. I really cant see the this lad playing much while he is on loan but i could be wrong.

theres no harm in trying the lad is there, after all hes got plenty of years ahead of him and i think he will be a decent signing:)

he may be used as cover, but ya never know he may get his chance and be proven a good player.
