What was the worst decision of the night last night?
Not giving West Brom a foul in the build up to the pigs goal (if anyone has seen this)
or
Giving a freekick 2 yards outside the area when the foul was committed 3 yards inside the area?!?!

I know which I choose.

IMO the Linesman should have been sacked on the spot for that one, (but then he gave us a pen anyway so kinda made up for his huge F'up  ).

I'd like to see these incidents again, as well as the penalty that he actually gave us because i didn;t think there was much in that one and i suspect the lino may have taken the opportunity to make amends.

Sod it, much better performance and a relatively comfortable win; lets hope we can continue to build on this decent run of form.

Sorry, the second was a clear penalty.

The first, whilst it looked like Keef was looking for the pen, he went down in the box, so if a foul is adjudged to have been made it should have been a penalty.

The first one was a clear penalty, I was going mental because it was right infront of us. It wasn't even close!

The second was harsh, the linesman just made up for his mistake. As happy as I was that he gave it, he shouldn't be giving things to make up for errors.

the first one was a clear penalty in the box but the second made up for it even though i did not think it was a penalty
carnt believe ref at sheff w match never gave a free kick wednesday can nver moan about the ref not being on their side was a elbow to the head,, shocking. x

The linesman in front of the South Stand's haircut?

I thought they were both penalties, but I'm sure the lino must have thought the foul started outside the box, and so that's why he told the ref to award the free kick. It's the only possible explanation I can think of.

That said, he was, er, very quick to award the pen just afterwards ......... :D

I think he was pulling him before Keef got into the box so.....

But you could say Morgan's "intent" against Gerrard started before he got on the pitch!!

:D:D:D

:D Morgan's "intent" on the whole world probably began in about 1982 ...... :D

I was on the opposite side of the Kop, so couldn't see properly (being a short arse doesn't help), but there did seem to be some niggling before he hit the deck, but nothing out of the ordinary.

But surely if a guy runs the length of the field with the ball despite having his shirt pulled the whole way by an opponent, and then when the attacker gets into the box the defender has finally had enough and hauls him down, he can't argue that the offence started in the opposition's half??! :(

In this extreme case (;)), the ref should have signalled advantage, and/or the linesman to have flagged, and not let it carry on so long :p

I know what you mean though :D

To be honest, having had a reasonably large quantity of Russian Orange by this point, I can't remember whether the ref blew before the linesman flagged. If he didn't, then he's got to go with the linesman's say so.
