To be fair, we've had plenty of offers all season... Think season ticket holders are close to being break even than if they'd decided to pick and choose but still gone every week.

I would like to see United include all cup ties in with the season ticket, as they used to do. This would placate S T H who are feeling let down by the day offers. O.K. I realise it will more than likely be for one game only but you never know.

When did they last do that??????

I can't ever remember getting that deal - even when we were so shit it would have cost nothing to have offered it. Most years in the 80s an away draw in the early round of any cup would have removed the problem of free-loading season ticket holders completely.

exactly brownie, right now there's probably plenty of blades that would shut the curtains if the team was playing in their back garden. Can't blame people for staying away, watching constant shite wears away the enthusiasm

In that case you (they) are not Blades. I expect you will be back when the going gets good again.

They did it by mistake in the late 70's or very early 80's. I used to work for the firm that printed the tickets, they took the contract away from us and, the following season, our esteemed replacements cocked up the terms and conditions to include Cup Ties.

It was the season that the vouchers had the oppositions kit printed on them as well as the name of the team if that helps.

no, peeza, you're wrong and out of order to say that to boot. some of us are old enough to remember similar declines in standards, quality of football, standard of playing staff etc....we've tipped our money up for long enough and had the piss ripped out of us by the likes of mccabe once too often. i dont watch premier league football, i have very little interest in the national team, i dont go 'elsewhere' for my football kicks, i sit at home pained byt the last two or three years of regressing which is almost certainly going to see us in the third tier for the first time in over 20 years. i couldnt justify the expense of a ST anymore based on whats on offer, not being a big enough blade doesnt even scratch the surface of it.

The fact is people are more of consumers these days than supporters. At one end of the spectrum supporters stick with a club through thick and thin, at the other end consumers go for the entertainment value. As the game has creamed the fans so much and rewarded mediocrity to handsomely, it's pushed large swaithes of the fanbase to the consumer side.

theres also a recession on and i am out of work, sick and receive zero in the way of state benefits, surviving as we are on a 50% income stream, £700 for season tickets was not a viable option. my season ticket was effectively the 'james beattie' of my household.

Sorry to hear that pupp. It's all a balance between affordability and entertainment. But many need very little entertainment to justify the cost. And many who can't justify the cost can suddenly justify it when ManUre roll into town for the cup. It's the same the world over - human nature.

well i've had a ST for at least 30 years of my life, so its a massive wrench for me as you'd imagine... i take your point about the sudden finance justification of some people, btu i couldnt even afford to go to the villa cup tie. i'm out of the loop with most of the ticket offers or i'd consider those (thats my own fault for not looking harder), fortunately the one game i have seen this season ended in victory, thanks to s24su's ticket competitions!

...........anyone that purchases a season ticket must either be loaded or crackers.

Put me down as crackers.......

You can put me down in the "absolutely fucking loaded" section if you like. If not, stick me in the "bat-shit crazy" queue. Either way, I'll be getting a season ticket next season, for two reasons.

1. I can afford one.
2. I can easily get to Bramall Lane, and you know what? I actually like going to the football. Of course, once you get there it can be a bit of a kick in the metaphorical bollocks, but the pre-match shenanigins are well worth it. Who can resist the temptation of a pint or two of flat Diet Coke because I'm driving, standing in the cold outside the Lion because some lily-livered twat decided that smoking indoors was "unhealthy", and listening to Mousey's various tales of daring-do?

Wondering what would possess someone to mourn a cat for two years plus, and what kind of twat-rattlers their father was importing?

The discussions of which film is the most disturbing, and which website is likeliest to cause the viewer to part with their breakfast. Endless wonderings of a philosophical nature, mainly "why am I here" sort of ones, and examinations of the meaning of life, the universe, and why the hell Stephen Quinn tries to grow a beard when it is blindingly obvious that the best he can do is crappy ginner chin-strap.

So that's me tending more towards "licky" than "lolly". You can definitely put most of us down under that heading. It has been said that Silverfox has more money than sense, but that would be true even if he only had ten bob left.

Crackers please.

Mmmmmm, crackers.......

I'm purchasing a season ticket next year because I enjoy watching The Blades.

Same here. Though I will demand that we have some Blades to watch. I'm not interested in watching other clubs' players anymore... Especially the crap ones. :)

Someone buy pup another ticket, looks like we need him there.
