Will the Prince come to the Lane this season?

All fair points but then you have the flip sides, will Wilder want to go anywhere after achieving back to back promotions?, the momentum of back to back promotions will also certainly help us stay up while the money will be huge for us and if we do come back down, we'll have the parachute payments to help us build properly.
I agree, which is why I say there's no 'best way'. A lot depends on circumstances and timing. You look at the last two; Norwich and Southampton. One has gone on to more success and the other are back in the championship having made changes at managerial and boardroom level that has made them look rudderless.

We agreed not to mention that, BB! ;)

Anyway, I was born and grew up in New Whittington which is 4 miles from Chesterfield Town Centre and about the same distance from the Yorkshire border. So there.

So technically Derbyshire. Like Presty :)

In all honesty if he is allowed into the country and isn't wanted for any crimes personally then I don't give a shiny shite. Far lower and worse than him own and partake in football. Some former football coaches were/are paedos. Let's quit the moralising because the bloke as I understand it has done fuck all wrong. Or are we going to tar everyone with the same brush? Which seems a bit wrong in itself.

Without wishing to be controversial.................................................

...............I hope he doesn't. The Saudi government is among the most corrupt in the world and any money he has is almost certainly tainted. I'd like HRH The Prince to sod off out of our club altogether. We are the Sheffield People's club, and not the plaything of an oil-rich oligarch, thanks very much.

nb All opinions expressed above are my own.
i have to admit i am also a little uneasy about this

I couldn't play for Yorkshire, no. :(

But I do talk reight not like them funny folk from deepest Derbyshire. :)
don't worry mate cricket is boring .. controversial!! :D
i was born in Windsor.. posh cunt for five days :D

To be fair, he's the Saudi's bog roll king, if his money's tainted, it'll just need a good wash and dry

We'd be up, thrashed, relegated and back to where we started in three seasons.

To be in the PL you need a PL team.

Once you're in the premier league you've got a premier league team

And a guaranteed 150 million pounds

Worst case scenario:

We'd be up, thrashed, relagated, and have £150m plus parachute payments to build a premier league side and go back up.
And unlike Robson, I don't think Wilder would blow it.

Do accept my apologies Kev if I've misunderstood, but you've got no misgivings where a potential owner of SUFC has acquired his wealth? So human trafficking, wealth that's been accrued from running paedophile sites etc? I'm sure you have lines that you'd never want us to cross, no matter how much wealth was involved. Again, sorry in advance, but sometimes I feel we should all take a deep breath before wishing for unimaginable wealth. Someone, somewhere, will have paid an awful price in order for some other bugger to lead a life of extreme good fortune.

As long as its legal then yes. I dont give a shit mate!

Don't worry, once HRH sells out to the Chinese you won't have to worry about the owners' Human Rights record.....er......oh wait.

Fact is, these days it seems everybody buying football clubs is either Saudi, Qatari, Other Arab, Chinese, Russian, Uzbek, Thai so while we might not condone it, the likelihood is British clubs are increasingly likely to be owned by people with a bit of a past, or from countries with "unfortunate" human rights or civil liberties issues.

I wouldn't want us to be owned by a crook or someone with a shady past.
The Prince hasn't personally done anything wrong as far as I'm aware.

You forgot the Americans. Your mention of countries "with a bit of a past" is a bit amusing. I don't think any of them has a worse record than the UK.

There's some right fucking hypocrites on here.

Edit: Not you Lings, just elaborating on what you said.
