or will he be forced out ?

What a disaster he's been for The Blades !

Until 2 seasons ago, he seems determined to back the club. We made the play-off final and things seemed rosy. We lost. Then the cost cutting began. The family silver was flogged.

I listened to him at Hallam Uni Thursday night ,it was an ego trip for him ,he came on to the stage ,clench fisted to united ,united and then spent an hour convincing me he has lost interest and has no intention of investing anymore .Went wanting to come away thinking we are in safe hands came away so dissapointed .he wants out and to be honest i think hes happy to run us down and take bottom dollar because he knows hes stuck with us if he holds out for a good price

If he's separated the property stuff away from the football club then what is left to sell?

I don't know but I'd guess there isn't that much difference in sale value of just the football club as to whether we are in the Champ or League 1.

If we were worth say £10m more by being a Champ club then I would have expected him to have bunged a couple of million in to player wages/transfers in January to make sure we stayed up and protected his investment/sale value.

As it is, now he has lost interest and sees us purely as an unwanted business, I don't see why he would put any significant money in to preserve our Championship status as he is unlikely to get it back when he flogs us.

At the Fans Forum in Bruce's era, I quoted his comments in a RS interview that if we were in the play-off positions in March (as it was then...) there would be money made available for 'The Big Push' as he called it....

his reply was merely to clench his fist and stutter 'yes, and we're all Blades here behind the manager for this Big Push and waved his fist to the rapturous applause of the audience full of performing seals. sp relieved to see the back of the likes of Hashimi, Charles Green and Brearley they'd swallow any old crap..... i never got an answer and i never ever had any faith in the man from that moment onwards.

Our lass came up to me earlier asking for some money for a new pair of shoes. I thinks "I know how to get out of this one", and said "I want to spend, but it would only make it worse".

I got a right smack in the mouth.

Which coincided with the arse falling out of the property market. Either poor old Kev has been left potless (relatively) or he realised that his plan for world domination using his various football interests to further his property businesses was a fundamentally flawed idea (with the world the way it is at the moment)...or probably a combination of the two. It's not for me to say whether McCabe has always had the best interests of SUFC when making business decisions relating to the club, but it appears to me that he left the club woefully exposed with regard to his (and to be fair presumably the boards) decision to diversify into other areas (health clubs, hotels, foreign club obsession...). The club needs a new approach and this will only come when the people at the top have gone; the longer McCabe lingers on the worse it will get. I dread to think what will happen under McCabe's tenure if (as appears inevitable) the club is playing League 1 football next season....
