No I will not cry and I trust that on the final day of the season, the cameras will NOT play over tearful distraught fans as they did at Pigotania when "Ronzer" consigned them to oblivion in 1990 the "Over music" was Its Over by Roy Orbison . I pissed myself ! which is exactly what they will do if we humiliate our selves. KEEP IT IN. The last time I shed tears was at Wembley 1992 when poor brave Mel Reece walked on to the pitch .

Yep, bang on. The shower of shite on the field don't deserve it. And once the dust has settled, I'm determined to enjoy 3rd tier football....somehow...:)

How does that work? Isn't enjoyment a purely spontaneous emotion?

Btw - Rusty, outstanding post.

Further to Rustyblade's truly excellent post I can only say that I agree wholeheartedly. I remember when we had a team - now it is just a motley collection of strangers. There used to be a team spirit, like the Three Musketeers but more of them, a definite collective "heart". Now they have less backbone than a jellyfish, less bite than a dead spaniel, less fight than Stephen Hawking and less passion than a convent.

I'd like to ask Kevin McCabe if this is the result of his "Blades Way" because if it is then it's a wonder his property empire has managed to be anything more than a cardboard box with some windows drawn on with a cheap felt tip. His "Blades Way" has resulted in divided factions on the Kop - we can't even sing as a collective, never mind play as one - and a rag-tag bunch of second- and even third-rate mercenaries coupled together with a fair few rejects that could never get in the first team at their parent clubs.

I'd like the players on the pitch to collectively show some desire. I'd like us to at least go down with a fight, rather than tamely and with barely more than a whimper. I'd like us to go downn at least trying to be Sheffield United, rather than Scarborough Property Group Mercenary Twats First XI.

And the chances of that happening would, on current evidence, be rather slim.

How does it work? I turn up to games, I enjoy them, I go home. Is there something I'm missing?

:)

Take your enjoyment wherever you can find it. Yesterday I enjoyed watching Quinn and Riise's performances. Even Robbie Savage wiggling his arse at the kop raised a chuckle.

In answer to the OP, I'd say no. If it were a sudden thing at the end of the season, after fighting bravely and managing, through sheer will over talent to keep our heads above water, only to be dropped by a last minute hopeful strike from outside the area (and we've been there before) then probably. Thankfully, it's being dragged over the course of three or four months - the fans know it, the players know it, the opposition players know it... it's a sorry state of affairs, but we're at the end of February and many of us cant wait for May to come around so we can get shot of this miserable season. It will probably be relief that it's finally done.
