I'm an advocate for the use of statistics in sport to help understand why things happen. They tend to be of much more value in team sports that are actually one v one (baseball, cricket) or have set plays (NFL). Football moves too quickly and context cannot be defined (what is a long ball? What is a long pass? Did you keep possession etc). Lazy journilism designed for click bait

If you can't be fucking arsed to actually watch us, at least look at possession and pass completion. A nothing article. Christ, if his understanding of football and entertainment is based on long and short balls, he has no grasp of what constitutes successful, attractive football. There's a wealth of material on the net why hasn't he done some research?

For what it's worth, I detest these sides that knock short balls along the half way line and backwards. It's only when you get to the final third, you can fully assess how good a side is.

No mention of quality of crosses, speed of counter attack, ability in Zone 14. Shots on target.
