I pray we get a result at Brighton today for everyone’s sake. But if we lose, the likelihood is that Chris will resign. Many of us would be devastated if it comes to this so let’s hope we go for it and get an early Christmas present.

You can take the above info with a pinch of salt, Im not going to speculate on the accuracy of the source. I think the majority of us want Chris and Alan to pull through this. A win today would give us hope. UTB.

I seen an Interview other day someone asked him about walking away, from his answer I didn't get the Impression he will walk, I hope he doesn't, BUT IF he did walk I would lose some respect for him, simply because he has taken all the plaudits and well deserved, and now it's a tough time something he hasn't experienced he has to stand up and be counted, I think and hope he will because walking would be the easy way out.

Holloway resigned from Crystal Palace as he realized he wasn't up to keeping them in the Premier League.

Pretty selfless that was.

Can you explain therefore, why just on Friday, Chris Wilder said in an interview that He would only walk away from United if he thought he wasn't the right man for the job and follows on from a blessing from the Prince even earlier in that same week?

Perhaps the source is yet another trolling pig fan stirring the pot - best thing is not to listen to stupid piggy twats - you now it makes sense.

UTB

The source is close to the club and impeccable , so sadly no Pig fan stirring the pot here. There might be a difference to what Chris says publicly compared to how he feels privately, who knows? The right man for the job is surely the person who thinks he can keep us up, even when the metrics firmly suggest otherwise.

But hopefully after today Chris, like some of us, is feeling more upbeat and still believes we can stay up.

Wilder and the prince are building the entire club up, we might have to accept yo yo status until the squad quality and club infrastructure catches up with the onfield progress

I'd settle for that right now, as I would have in 2007 before we fucked up getting Robson in.

I'm happy with pretty much everything about the club except the results. Baby steps? Building foundations? I think so

i think your spot on there actually suspect the prince and chris are already planning for a championship campaign next season weve got here a bit too quick know we did well last season but we were playing with momentum confidence and a system that caught premier league clubs by suprise just hope chris changes the system its become too predictable whichever league we end up in

Robson was given an arm and a leg financially. Beattie was the championship record signing at that point and on £40k a week. I doubt anyone is on that now, 13 years later when we're in The Prem.

Unfortunately for us he has a great name, just as McCabe wanted, but is just an awful manager and I'd have put my mortgage on the fact Warnock would have got us straight back up that season without any investment in the team whatsoever.

Yeah that was kinda what I was thinking, so this time if we go down we hopefully learn from that, stick with the manager we know can deliver on promotions, and yoyo back.

Why? his decision helped keep them up.
Wilder and Holloway are miles apart in managerial terms IMO, Holloway proved more than once he isn't good enough at this level, bit like Warnock, Wilder has proved he can keep us in the premier League, There is No guarantee another manager keeps us up IF he walks. Palace had a better chance of survival, Holloway walked after just 8 games , Palace had 3 points and were only 5 Points adrift of safety. we have played 14 and 9 points adrift from safety, bit of a difference

Like I said first time he's finding things tough, this is where we find out what he's truly made off. That's why I said IF he walks I would lose a little respect for him, as IMO it's the easy way out when things get tough, after everything he's said about the club he loves, I would expect him to stand up and be counted and fight to the end, IF that isn't good enough and we go down, I believe he's the man that gives us the best chance of going back up again, he's already proven he can do it. I honestly believe IF he walked it would set us back years. Just my Opinion.

Prince does not have the £ to pay PL wages required for the player quality to survive.
None of our high-fee but lower-wage acquisitions has had sufficient impact at PL level.
When we reached PL the time was ripe for the Prince to bring in properly wealthy investors - we could not have been more attractive than we were at the end of 2019.
But it didn't happen.
So here we are , with a mortgaged ground and relegation looming.
No prospect of investment now.
What a missed opportunity.

That's what parachute payments are for.

i think any club that cant pay premier league salaries cannot sustain premier league status and were certainly one of them and just become yo yo teams between the championship and premier league and we look as though we could be one of those clubs

It's been the same for years Pal, never had any money to make a difference. Probably been skint since 1889.

I always maintained that Robson should have been a director of football at the club, if I recall right mcabe offered it him after relieving him of the managers job but he declined..

Without doubt a terrible football manager, but in the recruitment department he could get anybody to sign for us, I heard down the grapevine back then the players used to come in and just say, how can you not sign when Bryan Robsons sat there, wanting you to play in his team.

Players signed for him as for some bloody daft reason we offered it’s of money.
nothing to do with his ability as a manager or the respect he got from players
