We all have things that bug us about football. Mine recently has been nicknames.
I dont play any more so I've probably lost touch but adding a "y" on the end of a surname for no apparent reason annoys me.
Maybe i just have anger issues but whether its fans doing it to make it fit into a song ("...sammon and sharpy") or manager's doing to sound one of the boys- it tends to to make my eyes roll.

Our Chris however seems genuine, seems the perfect mix of mate, stern but fun uncle, and disciplinarian dad.
Add all that in with his use of the sheffield "eh" and it now sounds fun and endearing.
It might seem like I'm the ultimate clapper but Wilder has given me so much pride and happiness over the last few months that his sheffield twang is just the icing on top. We know how worldwide the game has become, its nice to hear a player talk with an english accent let alone a chairman but when your mamager sounds like he runs the Horse and Cart its something to cherish because it wont be like it for much longer.

Lovleh.

i know what you mean and agree with every sentiment...it feels like the Blades and possibly a few others at Championship level to keep the English tradition of the game alive and kicking and not drown in a foreign sea.

great post From the pig endy!! ;)
