If you were going for a job in IT wouldn't you expect at least one of the interview panel to be an IT person?
Would you be happy to be treated by a doctor who was interviewed for the job only by a Carpet Salesman and a Timber Merchant?
It seems to be a no-brainer that the best person to interview a football manager is an ex-football manager.
If you accept that argument, then who is the best ex-football manager to get involved?
Someone who has vast experience at all levels of the game and numerous promotions.
Someone who knows Sheffield United inside out, particularly in low budget, lower league mode.
Someone who the Chief-Exec knows, trusts and admires (Bassett signed Julian Winter for us as a player).
I really can't understand why people have a problem with Bassett being involved in the interviews.
It seems to me that United are going about the appointment in a logical, professional way for once.
At this point, I'm still confident that the man we eventually appoint will the best man available to us.
