So the news we were supposed to hear today was that Lita or elswhere - or just the other players being considered stuff?

There was a possibility of some news on Lita, according to a few sources I was in contact with last night.

Things aren't totally dead, but aren't all that close to being positive in our favour, if the (good) sources I hear from are correct.

Lita coming or staying has everything to do with his err, reputation for enjoying a bit of a party and jiggy-jig on the London scene and nowt to do with ambition, salary, sheffield or anything else connected with United.

Are you sure?

Plenty of places to party in Sheffield.

Point is Reading are about to get Premiership Promotion would you really give that up to go to a team who are showing no ambition and have just sold their best hope of promotion?

I wouldn't I'd rather take almost guaranteed Premiership Football.

Lita's stated reason is he wants to stay at reading, read between the lines...

News at lunchtime confirmed hes refused, would rather stay at Reading.

Read between the lines between the lines mate. His contract is up in the summer. He won't play Premiership football next year with Reading but he will have a nice Bosman on his hands...

Lita's contract is up at the end of the season. Personally i think reading would like to hold onto him until the end of the season in case they stay down, in which case i can see them keeping him with a new deal. If they go up i can see him leaving to make way for someone better for the Prem, i think both Reading and Lita are playing a little bit of Cat and Mouse. why would Reading accept a 7 figure sum? because his contract expires in the summer and he can leave for free then. Lita said no, because he thinks they're gonna offer him improved terms, it will be interesting to see how this one ends up come the end of the season.

I've heard other things since lunch time, it's probably still off, but it wasn't definitely off yet last I heard.

The lack of agreement wasn't really down to which club he'd prefer :)

Last i heard from the BIGGEST Blade i know says WW3 was going on at BDTBL....... McCabe not a happy bunny about the Lita affair and letting everyone concerned know !

Why wasn't the deal sorted before BT let go? If he wasn't going to come delay the BT transfer?

Don't think going off one everyone about lita maybe not coming is going to help after he said on air that we had a replacement.

Stop the moaning and get on with it and pull something out of the bag, Win the fans back!

Ahh, I didn't realise he was out of contract although I had heard rumours he was leaving because he wanted guaranteed 1st team football. I could still see him staying with Reading though. If hes prepared to accept reasonable wages and a place on the bench then they could always decide to keep him as a good squad player no matter who they bring in. Whatever, happens a team always gets injuries and you never know when you give someone
chance sometimes they surprise so staying if an option could still be a good move Premiership wise for him.

i'd be surprised if he went to a premiership side. he's obvisouly sticking it out and hoping to get a chance at Reading.

I think you misread, that was what I said that I thought he was trying to stay with Reading in the hope that he gets to play for them in the Premiership, even from the bench.

Maybe it will be a bit of a wake up for Mr McCabe when he realises that Lita would rather sit on the bench at Reading than come to us! We have been here before guys, remember selling Deane and blowing promotion because we couldn't score?
I really can see that financial stability is the base for going forward BUT we would be far more stable with more premiership money than another season in the championship, surely that was worth a gamble on keeping BT?
I really do worry about goals now we now have the strike force with the worst stats in the division.......................

it's not necessarily that he'd rather not join the Blades, more what he stands to gain from sticking it out ;)

That would have been pointless, despite what McCabe promised (that a replacement would be secured first), because Beattie couldn't play anymore games for us could he? Not with such a serious 'bug'!

If he's out of contract he gets all the money offerd to him and his previous club gets nothing.

Bang on there.

If he transfered now, as he was set to, then Reading would get the transfer fee.

If he signs somewhere in the summer, as well as his wages etc, he'll demand a bigger signing on fee in leu of the club having to fork out a transfer fee.

Agents, arent they great?
