Just looking at BU and trying to understand the Blades fans mood.

Some are panicking because we have not signed anyone and percieve us to be behind other clubs in recruitment.

I thought most players contracts run out at the END of June and when most clubs would do business.

Presuming the incompetents have made a decision by then are we still ok?

Or are the club at fault?

I really would have thought that Robson would have made some sort of impact by now - either by announcing his plans for the forthcoming years or by at least making some signings!! I would hardly believe he was our manager as we never seem to hear anything!

think we will have some deals set up to come out ofter the news of the arbitration

1stly we are behind other champs clubs signings becuase what we have is already better and we cant sign anyone yet anyway market isnt properly open until july 1st.

But he can only sign players that are out of contract at the moment?

Or have I got it wrong?

The transfer window is not yet open is it?

Edit....sorry it did open on June 1st.....but as most contracts end at the end of June what difference does that make?

I'm not in a panic, nothing interesting happens in June anyway apart from the odd signing of an out of contract player or signing someone in advance. I think some people's expectations are a bit too high for us at the moment with Robson coming in and people expecting a bit shake up.

Steve,

Pretty certain you was right in first instance and transfer window not open till 1st July

Is that site trustworthy??

Doesn't let me transfer players till jusy 1st on footie manager lol

Do we really NEED desperately to be signing all these magical players who will just be falling over themselves to come to a club like Sheffield United?

We've lost CKR and look likely to lose Jags... but the rest of our squad is made up of proven Championship players.

While there are areas that no doubt need strengthening if we are to make a serious bid to go up to the Premiership (or in the unlikely event, stay there)... I don't see what the rush is.

A couple of quality players and job's a good 'un...

Everyone will be on Holiday won't they so prob won't be able to egt in touch with most players/managers. So it'll all be agent talk at the moment.

I'd like to know who these Championship clubs are that have strengthened so much since the end of the season.

West Brom? Look likely to lose their best 2 players
Charlton? Were poor last season WITH Bent. Improved under Pardew though
Watford? Will have King back so they'll probably be up there
Soton, Wolves, Cardiff? All weren't good enough last year and can't see them being good enough this year.

I would've thought we'd be as big a draw as anyone in the CCC next season, so when Robson flexes his mighty transfer muscles I'm sure we'll get in the players we need and finish in the top 2.
Not like the BU mob to be pessimistic though......

Im guessing the transfers are lined up but its annoying everything is on hold coz of the arbitration.

Charlton have signed the French U21 captain, porven championship marksman Chris Iwelumo and Luke Varney and have announced their prize asset will not move for less then 17 million quid (Darren Bent).

Watford have signed McAnuff, Mart Poom and held onto their prize asset (Marlon King)

I am not overly worried by our lack of action nor am i particularly jealous of the players that have been captured by other clubs.

I just wanted to illustrate that it is not too early to be making moves in the transfer market.

Wouldnt of minded us getting McAnuff though.

Surprised he went to watford coz i think he could easily make the move upto the prem.

Not really in a panic - just that June is a boring month for transfers and I'm eager to hear about a signing or two.

I don't think you lot need to panic, it's still early doors and there is plenty of time to get players in.

You'd have more right to panic if Robson was bringing in shit players. After all, Carlton Cole is up for grabs.

Patience is a virtue, once it is confirmed that we will play in the championship then maybe things can happen. We have a big squad, too big for the championship. But please Mr Robson, can we have a midfielder that is exciting to watch and can score goals.

ever the optomist me
