Who was second choice?

If Weir had not got the job, who was second choice. Was it actually down to Wally Downes?

Karl Robinson allegedly said (?) that the club wouldn't pay the money. I know about McCall (who may have been more interested had he known an investor was coming).

I think if it was left to Wally then maybe there was little choice! However perhaps Rusell Slade would not have been such a silly choice after all. Presumably he was responsible for helping nurture some of our previously good youngsters such as Jags and Tonge?
 



We are fishing in a different pond now so should be aiming higher manager wise. We need leaders on the pitch.
 
Probably Russell Slade... in hindsight looking at Orient this season that may not have been a bad choice.
 
If we are serious about aiming high, Martin O'Neil is still without a job.
Worth a punt?
 
Another post about a new manager. How about some of the players take some responsibility like Stanny says. We need leaders with balls
