Who Put 20p in Ollie Norwood

Rocky won in Russia...

But more on subject, a footballer is asked a leading question and says too much due to not thinking about his reply. Not much in this in my opinion however if nothing else the answer will be the truth..

If one of your staff went on social media to criticise your company’s operations in front of its customers, how would you react?

I don’t want anyone muting, but that comes with a responsibility. I see it little differently to if Norwood had said the team deserve better tactics than those the manager had provided.
He didnt put it on social media ,he was asked the question at a press briefing. It has being going on or 3 years now ,some might say its a bit concerning, it might affect some of the players we want to attract ,especially if we are looking abroad.

Of course he didn’t post it, but he knew where it was going. And again, I share his disappointment at the lack of progress.

I’m asking about his method of raising it. Is it the way employees should engage with company strategy? How would you want yours to raise issues?

The worrying thing for me would be the lack of response in word or deed by the people who should be sorting this out.
Its fashionable to slag Wilder ,Norwood or anyone else that questions things but maybe we should be looking at what they are questioning.
Maybe Wilder/Norwood have the clubs situation at heart ,although I know its not cool to say that ,much easier to slag them off ,but Im not in the cool gang.

I am genuinely concerned at the lack of word and deed. But I also think employees should air grievances internally, not through the media.

Folk always used to say our managers shouldn’t accept McCabe’s lack of funding and player sales. But that’s not their job, and ultimately there’s only one answer to that problem within their armoury - resign.

Organisations need a (U/n)nited front presented to the outside world.

He's just given us an horrendous season, and for me he's now just looking for an excuse , "It's not me folks it's the clubs fault"'.
With the money their on if they don't think the facility's are up to scratch they can afford to go and join a gym,
Not having a state of the arts training centre could be a put off for some of todays youngsters or their Dads but it's no excuse for how some of them played last season .....

If Olly wants better training facilities then all he has to do is show that he's good enough to play for a team that has them, and then they'll come and buy him.

Simples 😉

We all want a new training ground, it’s just a shame we got relegated after spunking money on daft signings and were in the middle of a pandemic. Don’t know if he should really be talking about it as a player, don’t think it is a good idea personally.

You've jumped from saying that the owner 'may' be ignoring the issue to definitively stating that there is 'complete ignorance' from him, unless of course I am misunderstanding what you have written?

From what I understand, plans were in place to build new facilities but were then postponed due to the pandemic. As disappointing as that is, I don't see that as the owner being blind to the problem, just not as flushed with available cash as many of us would like, him included I am sure.

At the risk of being labelled as one of those who will jump to his defense, I am willing to cut him some slack on this, provided it does get sorted again before too long. For me, the Prince hasn't done a lot wrong since he took full ownership, and has normally put his money where his mouth is, in direct contrast to Mr 'no bigger Blade than me' who came before.
The ‘may’ was indeed tongue in cheek. It’s been an issue for a while, long before the previous manager actually spoke out about it.
