Tbh, if I was Che Adams I'd be slapping a transfer request in & getting the hell out.

Phippsy & the rest of the spineless fuckers would be delighted. Wouldn't take them long to hawk him round & find a buying club with a modicum of ambition.

Just a question of whether Che goes in this window or in January, I reckon.

Done, but not until January at he's playing again.

I wouldn't. I'd be asking for a new contract though. It's got to have increased his chances of getting more first team games so if I were him I'd want paying accordingly.
Three months of defence-terrorising performances and I'd be off to Spurs or Everton.

I think Jim Phipps is one of the most decent and honourable men I've ever come across.
He does a great party piece of standing up when the others around him keep pulling the rug from under his feet and run behind the sofa to laugh their bollocks off at him.

Oh, and he knows fuck all about football.

My mates just said "Che is going to be even better, ready made replacement" what's to stop him going!? It doesn't matter how long they've been in the team for, look at Slew! If Che does well he gets nabbed too, it's lose-lose!

His experience, resumé I think he might call it, would suggest otherwise.

Slew was an absolute belter of a deal, I said so at the time so it isn't hindsight talking.

We nabbed Che whilst others were circling, he'll have admirers if he continues to improve, but we want players who are courted and eventually sold higher up the ladder, that's the way it works for those lower down the food-chain... the key is improving whilst we do it and ensuring a decent supply of replacements... which we haven't done all that well with recently :)

That may well be the case (&, for what it's worth, I happen to agree with you).

But that doesn't preclude folks getting very angry with him for things he does as joint-Chairman of this football club.

But I think that anger is misplaced. I take Jim's statement at face value, and in the circumstances it couldn't be better: especially funds will be reinvested in the first team.

If we keep behind Phippsy, the manager, and the team I think we have a bright future.

I agree, but we seem to get less and less from the players we sell. We squeezed everything from jags and we have some great memories of him, the Kyles gave us some great days too, Macca had some decent times, Maguire didn't reach his potential at all here, and Murphy has toiled in this league with us for far too long.
Ugh I don't know, just completely knocked my duck off this news!!
