But in fairness to them they have only played us once - whereas every other team (apart from Spurs) has played the leakiest defence in the world, twice.

I'm not saying they are a potent attacking force - just that "second worst goalscorers in the league" needs context.

Their strength is at the back - they have the 4th best goals conceded with 49 - and have yet to play the leagues most impotent attack.

His defensive headers from set plays are excellent but that does mean he makes a good centre back when there is open play.
However, what is the downside in trying it ?
Didn’t we try Gareth Taylor at centre-back once on the basis that he was good in the air? He was truly dreadful, had no idea where he was supposed to stand…if I remember correctly the whole lot had to reshuffled after 30 minutes…
