In the spirit of looking forward to Wembley yet again hoping for our first win there in a century, it got me thinking about other away days I associate with pain, anger or just plain sadness. Cheery stuff.

Walsall whilst in League One was never enjoyable. I’ve sworn off any potential trip there again. Even in the 100 point season we got thumped, the only shining light was the obstruction making it difficult to see it all. Not sure when the last time we won there was.

On reflection probably best to list those that aren’t shite:-
Necessary parameters are:
Accessible from railway station
Selection of (decent) alehouses ‘en route’ / vicinity. Added bonus would be those with less cockwomble followers - Anticipating adding Wrexham to list despite it meeting the 1st 2 criteria
Oh,
and,
Luton

Walsall is a very weird choice. One of the easiest away games by public transport, big social club right by the ground, Birmingham elite for beers if you don't fancy that. I know we played them some stupid number of times one season but that doesn't make it a bad away day

But, to answer the question, least favourite is probably Gillingham. Huge trek down to and then further out of London, pathetic "temporary" away stand which sucks in all weathers, town is a shit hole, club is so tinpot their most notable achievement was blowing a playoff final in spectacular fashion. That on the one time I did do the trip we lost 4-0 didn't help

I was never keen on the trip to Norwich. I seemed to take forever to get there travelling through country roads. My travelling days were many years ago so maybe easier to get too now.
The trip to Norwich always seemed like approaching the event horizon of a black hole. Time would move at normal speed for everyone else but anyone on the A47 time would appear to stand still.
A journey only livened up by spotting the huge amount of wildlife that had given up hope and thrown themselves under the nearest lorry.

I for one like the idea that all black holes are pedestrianised

Pompey. Just a fucking rough town, never seem to get a result although I was there for the 2-1 in 2003 when they went up

Reminds me, haven't seen pommpey on here for a while
