Where Did It All Go Wrong?

Wasting your breath SJ. That fact has been pointed out so many times and it won't be accepted by those who don't want to see it because it doesn't suit.

Don't you think this is semantics?

Jim'll Phipp's it very much at least implied, we'd be spending the money made from Murphy, surely?

It started going wrong when we appointed Robson and then messed around sacking Blackwell at the wrong time rather than we he offered to quit after the Burnley defeat.

Then it's just been bad decision after bad decision.

I think selling James Beattie, when he was in "goal machine" form (remember the long range free kick against the pigs?)

And I'm sure they have. But people still insist he said it would go on new players. He didn't

It's no good people saying he's full of shit one minute then insisting he's been clear and unambiguous the next.

Jim speak isn't on either though, it's an affront to the fanbase.

ll went wrong when after a fine away draw at cardiff we sacked Blackwell after a 3=0 home defeat to the eventual champions , his crime finishing 8th in the championship

this was deemed catastophic at the time

be careful of what you wish for

then we put Speed in charge and this sealed our relegation , as he left us, not so much high and dry as low and wet , it led to too many changes in too short a time coupled with Holby City style medical room

Teams need stability we got took through 4 managers in 6 months all with different styles
and why , some people didnt like Blackwell winning games without panache now and again
moaning at 1=0 wins at Reading

got us going places getting rid of him thats for sure , not so much him but the continuity he gave
he wasnt exciting , but could gather points , sometimes that has to be enough

Yep. The Blackwell sacking was a mistake. The timing after letting him take charge through the summer (including going on the Malta tour) bring in new players and then start the league campaign, was off the wall crazy.

And then we went and did the same again last summer with Nigel Clough!

Odd, isn't it? I mean ... the timing of it all.

Blackwell sacked whilst still in the Summer Transfer Window. Anyone would think he looked at the ambitions of the club and said, "You'd best not sell any more players and buy some good ones, or we won't achieve fuck all."

Clough sacked during the Summer reccess. Anyone would think Clough said, "Are we buying these players, or what?"

Seems to me that if anyone crosses the patch of Mr McCabe with anything that sounds like common sense, they get their P45 (and a payout to shut them up)

Has anyone actually sat down with the accounts and worked out who wasted more money in our failed attempts to get back to the PL out of Robson and Blackwell?
Blackwell signed more crocks than Clough did, and on much higher wages.

I dont disagree with anyone who might describe him as dull as dishwater, but it was top 8 championship dish water
after joining us on a one way ticket to relegation to league one after xmas and getting us to 9th somehow
we finished 3rd and 8th
but was that not good enough
obviously not for some , but considering how dog shit we were 24 month earlier than when we sacked him, to sack him at that time was mental , hed brought stability and continuity
so we werent Ajax with Cruyff, but considering hed been instructed to halve the wages hed shit miracles, but some didnt see it
they were on higher wages than todays but thats because we were in the championship , not rocket science that bit is it
