Thought they were woeful at our place but everyone is now papping themselves about playing them. Have they got some key players back or signed some new ones since we played them?

Keith Curle as their new manager?

He seems to have them playing some decent football.

Won 5, Drawn 1, Lost 0 since taking charge.

Woeful? I thought it was one of our tougher home games. They were big & direct but I thought they caused us more problems than most have done at the Lane this season

One of the better sides ,if they were woeful what were some of the others ?

Didnt get to home match so cant comment on how they played,Seems they've put together some good results since Curle took over and the way our results have been going lately looks like a tricky match.

They looked good at the lane and many made commets to the effect of they would have under achieved if they did not make the play offs. Their board seems to have thought the same hence ditching their manager for new.

I thought County were well drilled but we were a class above. They scored a fortuitous goal (Sheehan's(?) free-kick boucing right through and in) then we did what we needed to in order to get the three points, summed up by Ched's quick thinking.

New Manager Syndrome works when the manager knows what they are doing.

The stats others have fished out recentlyonly generalise on teams who have changed manager, not the ability or quality of that manager.
Sure there are instances where a new manager makes no impact at all (Adams being a prime case in point) but that's not solely down to a "new" syndrome.
Leeds will pick up more points now Warnock is there
Pigs will get better results now Dave Jones is in charge
Wolves will not since Terry Connor is a novice
Curle has learnt his trade form Warnock so it makes perfect sense to me that County have picked up since his appointment.
Ronnie Moore is experienced and proven at this level so Tranmere will be no push over tomorrow.

If anyone thinks that Tuesday night will be a walk over then think on.
I'll bet the pigs struggle this weekend but may be capable of getting a result if the game gets into a physical battle.

I thought they played very well at the Lane and a win flattered us, funny how we all see it differently

I thought County did ok when they came to the Lane. They were a stern test. Big, strong and direct. however we were more than a match. True football won. I thought united were excellent that day, but we had to be to beat a very resilient team. We could have had 3 or 4, but actually sat back (and defended way too deep) and were under the cosh late on.

I came out after that game and said the trip to Meadow Lane would be tough, particularly if they were in contention for the play offs. Now they are in with abig shout and are playing well. Keith Curle has clearly injected a bit of confidence into a decent squad. Plus, it is an away game. It will be very difficult.

united still have enough to beat them, but it is (imo) the toughest game we have between now and May. There's a reason we are 2nd and they are 6th. We're better. We went to Huddersfield and got a result, so don't see why we cannot here. We have the quality to beat any team in the division. However we'll have to play very well to get a result.

We were hanging on at the end but how many chances did we miss that game, hitting posts missing sitters etc. Could have been 5-1 but it was tough

Lets be fair about this. When Notts County came to the lane they gave us a scare, but I wouldn't say they were a decent side and didnt deserve anything out of the game. Compared to Bury at home, they at least made the game competitive, but were pretty average at best.

Should we worry about then? No, we should approach the game in a professional manner (like v Huddersfield away, bury home and away) and get the job done.

Fair play at the job Keith Curle has done at present, but, it's just the Blades way to be, 'papping' ourselves at the thought of playing Notts County!!
We've been let down so many times at various points over the years that it seems to just be negative as the norm by a large number of Blades fans.
We could be top of the Premier and be drawn away to Torquay in the FA cup and still be, 'papping' it!!!
