Trigger Blade
Cheerful twaddle
I ask because last night, when Elokobi was shown the red, before Billy could take the penalty, Colchester made another substitution, when Moncur made his weary way over to the touchline.
Just looking at the BBC timeline, it was 2 minutes after the foul that Billy got to take the penalty. There's no way of knowing whether that had any bearing on him missing, but it just strikes me that although clearly play is stopped, the penalty is really a continuation of the last bit of play, ie the foul, so a substitution ought to wait. I'm adding that bit of injustice to my growing list of things to be indignant about
It definitely added to the spectacular timewasting and how their keeper avoided a booking is beyond me. The ref knew what he was doing and kept telling him to speed things up, where a yellow card would have done the trick. The keeper's best moment was asking the linesman what he'd done wrong when the first pen had to be taken again. As I said elsewhere, he was at least three yards off his line, maybe he doesn't know the rule?
