Some interesting views there. I assumed due his lack of playing time recently that they would be quite down on him but it seems that generally they are very keen on him. What that means for his future with us time will tell

Interesting mix of views. They really shouldn’t be thinking of how useful he’s been in promotion but more taking the emotion away and thinking about their worth for next season in the Premier League. I’ve no doubt had we been minded to we could have kept Madine, Cranie, Dowell as three examples that did well for us – and if fans’ views had been sampled the week we were promoted I imagine a good number would have been up for having some or all of them as part of the squad.

I did think when we loaned him out that he’d be back involved next season, but he’s now very much on the potential sell-to-reinvest list for this window.

I'm hopeful that after having a very successful season in the Premier league we will be looking at a notch or two higher than Robinson, I am not knocking him in fact the majority of the albion fans seem to rate him, I find it difficult to have a strong feeling for Robinson as I haven't seen enough of him but if we were to be able to sell him for what we paid I would regard it a bit of good business and help boost the spending power

My favourite :- "We need an out and out goal scorer and they're not hard to come by." 😂😂😂
That was the comment that stood out for me:
1. I like his optimism.
2. He needs to be a scout, whatever he does now he is wasted.

Come on, that's clearly not what he meant to say.
What do you think he was saying? (I read it as he thought they were plentiful, which having done my internet scouting I can assure him he's mistaken).

No one thinks out and out goal scorers are plentiful and therefore available and not expensive. I think he's saying that they need one, Robinson isn't one so at £8m it could be too expensive and they'd be better spending elsewhere - but it might be an idea to keep him as an option if they don't find anyone. He's not put it very well, though, so I could be wrong. He might think they grow on trees at the bottom of the garden.

I’d be reluctant to see him go as he’s a talented player. Robinson was the signing I was most excited about in the close season He’s not made an impact for us as he’s not an out and out forward. It’s a very rare instance of Wilder putting a square peg in a round hole. I think he was bought with either the 10 role in mind or the ability to move to a different formation if we were getting battered every week.

If we are going to persist with the flat 3 then he’s probably a waste of a squad place and a wage, however if we are going to use a different shape then I think he has a role to play.

I like the comment saying he’s been a revolution.

My personal thoughts are that he is a pretty good player, but it really depends on who he’s playing for and their style. He looks great when he’s facing the goal 40 yards out and running at defenders, looking to make something happen. Ideally cutting in from the left side. That’s why he looked good for WBA, a team usually on the front foot in a league they’re looking to get out of. That’s also why he has looked good for us on the occasions we change the system at 60 mins and are chasing a goal.

I don’t think he is suited to us and our system as we don’t play with wingers and he will usually be asked to hold up the ball with his back to goal and bring other players into the game which is not really his game. That’s not to say he isn’t a good player though.

I will say that he isn’t as quick or explosive as I thought he would be. I have been a little bit disappointed in him but again I put that down to all the reasons above rather than actually his ability or character.

If we got ten million for him, I think it would probably be to a relegated side like Norwich, who will be looking for him to do the same again and get them up, rather than WBA as he’s going to be fall into the same trap with them next year as he has with us this year. I don’t really think he’s intelligent enough as a player yet in terms of decision making to play the number ten and replace Mcgoldrick long term.

I’d be interested to see how he is as a number 9, that could prove to be an inspired loan move if it’s transpired that he can play that role effectively and comes back to us and plays that role next year for us with Mcburnie in behind him pulling the strings. He’s also useful as he can play out wide and enables us to change the system and make use of the 5 subs rule.

I’m really torn about keeping him tbh. For ten million, that could sign Lallana on a free and pay his wages for a year or two. However I wouldn’t be opposed to keeping him here, I think we need better as a starter but he definitely makes the bench look a lot stronger.

To be fair there opinions seem pretty much in line with ours. We know he’s good in the championship and in the Prem he is a squad player. It’s just do we move him on and say another and use that money to bring in a little more quality.

Yes you do sound very "torn" mate, I must admit.

I'm not torn at all about him. I've seen him have better games against us (for Preston) than for us. But that was at Championship level. I don't think he's good enough to play regularly at Premier League level.

Interestingly enough, West Brom didn't think he was good enough to play regularly at Championship level.

What does that tell you?

Should we be looking to "improve" on what we already have - do you think? Or should we be looking to slot players back into the squad that we considered we didn't need for most of last season and hope that they might get better and make a contribution?

I know what I think.

I think, in life, you can achieve a lot with patience. And you can achieve even more without it.

Get rid. If we can get our money back on this one I'll be more than happy with that.

I was really excited when we signed him, but he looked nesh, slow, and lost every time we played him down the middle.

He seems a lovely bloke, popular with the team, and I think he’s good out-wide and great in the championship.

He’s got sod-all future here except as either a sale to boost the coffers, or an extremely frustrating sub.

They're playing him as their striker in a 3 which is a mistake. I thought they'd bought him to play in his actual position. They've made him 7 and put him as a 9.

Not really working anyway.

They look a bit toothless, got in a few good positions and a few meh shots but a Leicester who look noticeably poorer missing Chilwell and Madison (injured?) are settling and playing it out from the back fairly comfortably and are getting better chances down the other end.

Took him off and put an actual CF on.
