We could not afford to sign proven and polished diamonds, even in the Championship. We sign hungry players who show the character and skills to improve, they are not the finished article in the Premier League.

£8m, £10m and £20m is peanuts for three P.L. strikers.

£6m, £3m, free, rather modest for midfielders.

Loans for a veteran, an International and a young keeper. Modest.

Lot of money for us but not in the P.L.

I'll repeat Wilder's words- 'players with hunger, character and plenty in front of them'

Please do not put the lads under undue pressure whenever we have setbacks.

They all look delighted to get the opportunity and seem real team players and encouragers amongst the group.

Then all our established players have only a handful of P.L.games between them. New territory which is the peak of their careers, real personal challenges.

They all need 'encouragers' for the next 32 games.

Also what ever target is given to Wilder.....he doesn’t just achieve it....he exceeds it.
He’s done better than I’ve predicted in all the 3 years he’s been here. Anything seems to be possible under Wilder.

However we don’t want Wilder to be a victim of his own success.
I’m predicting now that if and when we lose 3 consecutive matches in the PL,, there will be plenty suggesting Wilder isn’t up to it.

Agree, you can sense it happening already.

Certain posters seem to only have doubts and see problems.

This is only the start of Year 4 of Wilder's Miracle. Any final league placing from 20th and above is mammoth achievement for our manager. ( yes 20th!!)

I don't give a fig about the League Cup. I was disappointed in the performance, but couldn't care less about the result. I just wanted to see a good performance - and I didn't. So that was disappointing - nothing else.

None of this will stop me roaring the Blades on, on Saturday, against probably the best team in Europe right now.

And do you know what? I think we'll give them a good game. I don't expect to win - but I think we could. And that's what makes this game so wonderful.

Those of you who felt Norwich could beat Man City the other week will know what I mean. Both of you!
