Warnock's new job

And their Steel City neighbour Neil Warnock is planning to do just that.

The former Sheffield United boss has been approached about joining the BBC's new series of Strictly Come Dancing ... and he's bang up for it.

Warnock revealed: "I have been sounded out about it, though not officially. I can't dance so I'd probably look a plonker but I never say never - I'm game for anything."

The offer of a new job could prove a stumbling block, but Warnock has a book in the offing and, with eight million viewers, the show would introduce him to a wider audience.

He added: "The one snag might be that the programme goes on until December and I hope to be back at work by then, but we'll have to see how things turn out."
