You need an award for doing this today

Well at least the WBA fans know it was daylight robbery tonight. And yet reading the comments on here from some of our 'fans'? you would think we were total shit.

Maybe we weren't as bad as some would make out after all.

Cheers Panchero :(

Thank you Roy.
Speechless, nowt said, nowt to say.

Thanks Roy.

Fair play to the West Brom fans. They definitely have both feet planted firmly in the real world. If it wasn't for the fact that they are one of very few teams that we seem to have even the remotest chance of climbing above, I would wish them well.

It wouldn't have been as hard to take had we not lost nine of our opening ten fucking games.

I'm one of the "we go again" types but I don't see how we can be pleased with anything from that.

We had a 6 or 7 good chances across all of our expensive strikers and they all missed, their keeper made two saves he should make (though Comms made out like they were world class for some reason, maybe they feel sorry for us) but we were still slow, wasteful in possession, lacking creativity, composure, and quality.

I think we've played better this season to be honest.

That wasn't a good performance from us, it just didn't stink the place out.

In the context of it being a game against a newly promoted team without a win who we needed to beat, it looks a lot worse.

Very apt choice of song Roy "And I'm not here This isn't happening" - I wish!

If we were totally dire game in game out, I would eventually come to terms with these narrow defeats. But somehow it makes it so much worse for me, that we’re carving out so many good chances and can’t finish any of them off. I know I should take encouragement from this, but you can’t get away from the fact that even going at full tilt our “A” game doesn’t seem to be good enough.

Thanks Roy. It's nice they're appreciating how lucky they were, but it's no consolation for another 3 points missed.
I do feel thoroughly deflated this morning, probably more so than I have at any time this season.
Good song though, you could have used 'No Surprises' too...

Its the hope that kills you. Not that there is much of that.

So far it's like a season of Aston Villa at home 17/18.

Keep getting Snodgrassed.

Take issue with that, especially your quotation marks regarding 'fans'. It's a tired, bitter old trope that when times are bad, if you criticise, you are not a Sheffueld United supporter. It's as cheap and childish as you can get, and I am calling you out for it.

As a reminder (as if you need reminding) and to put it into context, we played a fellow relegation contender team, who came up from the division below with a fairly cheap (in terms of monetary value) setup and did nothing but miss gaping chances and allow a soft goal in. We lost, again ... the ninth time this season out of ten games, the only exception to that was a recued draw thanks to a fortuitous VAR decision. VAR decisions have also helped us in some way toward other highlights too this season, like Berge's penalty against Liverpool. Either way, with regard last night's performance, if we can't score, and can't stop the opposition scoring one more than us (pretty simple maths) then we are indeed 'shit'. Last night wasn't an exception. We did the same against Leeds, West Ham and Man City at home, Arsenal, Villa, Liverpool and Chelsea away to name but a few. We were totally chinned in the first round v Wolves too, without anything coming back. There's a pattern there, and it has fuck all to do with 'fans' and your assessment of their status. So I for one would like you to reassess your opinion on fellow Sheffield United supporters and remove the ad hominem, and concentrate on the eleven on the pitch and what they do. If you think we weren't as bad, then show us your working out. Try not to colour your assessment on what Baggies fans feel. They are simply glad they are opening up a small gap now and thee points better off than 24 hours ago, thanks to some abject defending, midfielding and attacking by our team.

We’ve played better this season
Liverpool away , Fulham first half , weeds at home
But let’s not kid ourselves we were fucking shit in front of goal ,
No amount of shoulda / coulda / woulda puts points and confidence on the board ,
yes we deserved something from the game but we got fuckall end of story ,
I won’t criticize any individual player what will it achieve?
Thanks Roy it must have been hard to do that one
As always

You do come across as a very angry little man at times. And I'm calling you out for it.

Perhaps if most of your posts didnt all seem like a constant rant, I might put more credence in them.

Note (to you)

I'm talking about the team and the match. You're talking about me now. So it's gone from 'fans', down to one 'fan'.

Personally, I don't give a fat rats arse about what 'credence' you give my posts. If you want to start getting personal because our football team lost (again) then it says more about you and your understanding of the game than it does me.

And 'anger'. Y'know, it's another dull, wearying little internet trope to wheel that one out as some sort of pale 'one-nil' to someone you disagree with on the internet. Anyone can do it. Look:

'Weasel, you do come across as an angry little man at times'

See? It achieves fuck all. Meanwhile, Sheffield United remain at the foot of the Premier League

Youve just proved my point.

Why use 50 words when you can use 1000 instead, seems to be your mantra. And most of them angry it seems.

Oh I forgot to sign my post off for added effect.

Weasel.

Again, Mr Angry Little Weasel, you're turning this into a 'me versus you' thread, rather than a 'how do Sheffield United get out of this mess' thread.

Says everything about who the angry one is here. Might be an idea if you stopped, right now.

Here, also:

pommpey (for 'added effect', whatever that means - I've been doing since the SUISA days circa 1997)

I'm perfectly happy thank you (positive SUFC results could make me happier but it's not the be all and end all in the scheme of things tbh). Not angry at all. I'm not the one ranting with 10,000 word posts (my take thread) on a football forum.

I can only assume that you sign off each of your posts as its an egotistical thing, or perhaps most of your posts are the size of a small book (and I'm 'calling you out for it' - see we can all do it can't we, ha ha) and you are claiming to be the author for copyright purposes.

Angry Little Weasel.

P. S. I'll stop when I like thanks. Thank you for the advice though.

Weasel.

Instead of taking me on, why not just scroll the fuck past then? Even put me on ignore. Isn't that the grown up way of doing things? No. Matters more to thwack your bottom lip and start having a personal pop, because it scratches that thin tendril of inadequacy and helplessness coiled around your inner soul. Well, fill your boots. I'm here. Take me on. Many have in the past, yet still, I'm back giving it ten thousand (how many?) in a simple opinion thread on an nondescript bulletin board about the bottom club in the English Premier League. It's you, focussing in on that and in particular 'me' which is making you look a bit of a bellend at the moment Weasel. If you've got anything constructive to say about Sheffield United or last night's game please, speak the fuck up. My take is that you haven't, and you're here chucking your weight about like the five year old you accuse me of being. With every post, the bigger and shinier the bellend you become.

Do yourself the kindness of either shutting up (about me) or commenting in a well-rounded, dignified way on what happened last night, eh?
