That Bakayoko looked decent, as did their other striker, the little fella, I don't think they outplayed us or anything, but they frustrated us majorly in the first half, didn't look too bad defensively until late on and kept attacking even after letting 3 goals in, so fair play to them. I think they'll be reyt if their strikers are on form.

They seem a decent, down to earth bunch even though they usually always beat us. Similar sized club to Brentford, but the difference in level of class in th fan base is massive
If you're basing your opinion on a few comments Roy has copied and pasted from message boards, yes. If you actually know any Brentford supporters, then no, not really.

Would we have been find for fielding a massively weakened team if we'd lost?

Yep. We're still long ball hoof merchants. Tick

From Roy's 'View from' - 'I presume judging that one goal was conceded from a corner that the Blades just starting lumping speculative long balls into the area and chances came as a result'

Obviously said by someone who didn't attend the match....

It may be correct that fans concentrate on their own sides lot than talk about us..

... but it's not half as much fun to read ;)

“Bit of a strange game, felt more like a pre-season fixture especially in the first half.
We played okay, I wouldn’t go as far to say we played the better football or that we deserved something out of it, again Whitney’s post match quotes that we ‘outplayed’ them are simply inaccurate.
First half we defended on the edge of our box and scored a breakaway goal with a tidy finish from Bakayoko, the rest of the half we had maybe one deflected shot and for the rest of it we watched them pass it around in our half without any real danger.
Second half we dropped even deeper, the introduction of Evans – and United upping the tempo – eventually changed the game, 3 goals in quick succession is something all too familiar under Whitney and again we capitulated under the slightest hint of real pressure. The 91st minute penalty came about after only our 2nd shot in anger in the half as Basham handled from Kouyhar. A great pen from Oztumer.” “a good showing but not good enough”

Someone who actually saw the same game that I did.

I love Roy's view from but I don't think we can form opinions about what the fans are like just based on that. I happen to know a lot of Brentford fans, most of which were anticipating a difficult game and would have taken a draw. Yes there will be the few who get carried away but on the whole Bees fans are a down to earth normal set of fans.

It's really weird with that Bakayoko, he's scored now 5 goals for Walsall. 4 have come against us. in 30 odd games.

He looks a reyt player when we play them, a proper big strong pacey handful. But I can imagine he just shows up when he's playing the big dogs trying to impress, hence his goal return.

but this is a view from Walsall?

TBH I thought they would bang on about ched and his 'situation'.

Fair do's they've talked football like proper football fans. Got to respect that, best of luck Warsaw

Very confusing. I mean, is it Ama? Or is it Baka? Very poor nickname co-ordination from Walsall. Relegation awaits.

And as for the "the Blades just starting lumping speculative long balls into the area"...

I wonder how many years of good football we will have to play to clear the long ball shit from other teams minds, my guessing is it will always be, "Oh its Sheffield United, lump it merchants" regardless of the fact we no longer play like that!

Everyone seems to have a mate who supports a team we've just played. Some even know multiple.

Who the fuck knows a Brentford or Walsall fan, really? You multicultural bastards.

I know a Brentford fan who I see once a year on holiday. Nice lad, looks a lot like Brian McDermott.

Another excellent contribution Roy. I look forward to this very much. Their fans seem quite depressed about their future.
