For various reasons, I was in their end yesterday and think I can add a different perspective..
Turner, I stood 10 metres away and couldn't see any foul on him. He not only dropped it but directed it backwards. He hung his end in both shame and to avoid the mocking of the Scunthorpe fans. Something may have occurred elsewhere but he wasn't fouled from my view.
What the feckin ell was that, I've read it was only 20 per cent singing. Have to say it was the loudest chant of the day as heard by the others in the ground and seemed to be more than 20 per cent. I thought something had actually occurred at that end and didn't initially realise it was directed by Blades fans at their team.
Done's first half header was a really good attempt and he skilfully directed it from a difficult position. Just missed the post and worthy of meritous mention. He really seems to have talent and we just need to feed him.
Madden should've won it for them in the second half with a few chances. If Done had had those chances they'd have been put away.
I've read people criticise Brayford for diving in, from my view he saved United twice by sliding in and stopping their attack.
Murphy was doubled and even triple up on most times he got the ball. They've obviously seen the Donnie away goal and done their homework. If we had another attack minded midfielder we would have exploited that but only had the standard option A and he just ran out of space before he could make an impact.
Their half time bar was good, warm, sky scores on TV, ale available and clean bogs.
Scunthorpe town was awful, dreadful in fact. I paid my respects at the old show ground and it comes to something when the town pub highlight is a wetherspoons and your post match pint is in frankie and bennys!
Still best get used to it as we will be back there next year, anyone find a good chippy?
