Great stuff Roy. Not sure whether i’m glad or annoyed that we have got so few games on the telly in the next month (discounting the amazon ones), but I guess the secret is already out now. Lazy thinking this second season syndrome, though it does have some legs and has happened with a fair few clubs in the past.

However, they don't have this squad of players, this manager....and a lot in their second season get complacent and buy a fuckton of foreign mercenaries.

It is a myth. Look at Burnley, Watford, Wolves and Bournemouth and in earlier years Swansea, Stoke and West Brom. The only side I can think of who had a great first season then dropped are Reading under Coppell. People talk about Hull but they finished 4th bottom. We might finish 4th bottom and next season struggle but that would be expected. If we finish top half, nothing backs up the idea we would struggle the season after.

Clearly something happened during the Brighton 2-1 Doncaster game in 2011. First game at the Amex; Sharp scored the opener then was stretchered off.
