Professional job did what we had to do .. come back with 3 points .. We had our chances also Billy should have squared it when put through & Stevens should Dave hit target with time & space he had . Top day out and proper sesh In Blackpool .
Think it was Darnall lads who tickets for their exec area ,

The above is just a small part of his output. Genuinely fascinating stuff.

Take a look at the Blues-Leeds graphic. From reports you would think that Leeds might have been hard done by not to win, but in actuality, the side finished even on xG - a draw would have been a fair result.

This is quite funny though...

What the fuck happened on ~57 minutes?

McGoldrick xg 0.8 when he stuck one in from 6".

Don't quite know how that rated less than 1 on it's own?

I actually think that this xg thing is a load of bollocks, just a load of numbers creating white noise.

The only stat that actually means anything is AGS (actual goals scored)

Brentford disagree. :)

Roy, how bout a view/mood from Leeds after each round of games. If you have the time?

Should be interesting read if it keeps swinging like this.

Yes, the forum is lacking some arrogance. Send for a Leeds fan.

No. Don’t. Please don’t. For Pele’s sake, don’t.

spot on like Keith Edwards said post match & Phil Thompson on soccer Saturday about Liverpool, at this time of the season its the results not the performance that matter

You don’t think there’s any correlation between performances and results?

of course earlier in the season you play well & normally win but at this time of the season with the pressure mounting , look at Bristol city how I think at 1-0 the occasion got to the players. it doesnt matter how you get the win, whether its a tight 1-0 or like Norwich 4-0 which is a bonus. because getting the 3 points & getting over the winning line is what matters

You are more likely to win by playing the right way. I know that’s a difficult concept for some on here.

yes you will, but these arent normal games this is not November or 20 games into the season this 1 point with 6 games to go, with £200m on the line, worldwide tv coverage also best of players, managers & teams coming to bramall lane. its not as simple on paper as just playing the right way. pressure tells, pressure can do silly things in any sport & its who can produce the most form under biggest pressure

the reason why you dont necessarily play your greatest game in play off semi finals or final

That’s all perfectly true, but it doesn’t alter the basic principles of the game. The better football you play, the more likely you will win, whether it be August or April.

Is it harder under pressure? Yes of course, but the best teams overcome that. It will assist us enormously to keep the ball better than we have recently. Easier said than done, I accept.

Quite - play like we have the rest of the season and the analytics tell us we would finish top 2 60% percent of the time...

Until there’s a way of defining ‘better’ I’m afraid your first paragraph is nothing more than a truism.

The Right Way. Professionals and Managers [not least our own] use the phrase all the time. They don't mean aimless punts in the general direction of the other end of the pitch. Think pass and move rather than hoof and hope. That should help.

The S2 quest for an alternative to football goes on...

The Darnall lads from the Terminus ?

Sitting amongst them most comments I heard were fair.

“They’re a decent footballing side”

“They are just too quick for us. They think quicker than us and play it quicker than us”

“Billy Sharp always scores against us”

“F off McGoldrick”

:D
