Whilst this update merely confirms what we all know, I still think seeing it in hard facts is worthwhile. Apologies if repetitive.

As an update to my post of 10 games ago, the stats show a significant reverse in Wilder phase 3 of the season.

There has been a sharp downturn in both points per game and goals scored per game during Wilder’s third phase, with a steady increase in goals against per game across all three Wilder phases; the latter stat perhaps most alarming, as he has not only failed to address our defensive issues, they have got steadily worse.

Perhaps worth also comparing to last season which despite achieving 92/90 points (a fantastic achievement) we still showed a significant drop off as the season progressed especially towards the end.

And the trend for a last 30 minute collapse, which again was shown unequivocally in previous posts, has only been reinforced in recent games (I can add in hard stats if thought helpful).

But all Wilder stats are much better than Selles!

Wilder had 35 games 51 points even after the points we've thrown away we would be on the cusp of the play offs. The right surgery this summer will give us a real chance of at least the play offs next season.
The right surgery doesn't mean sacking Wilder he deserves another crack at it! Yes maybe he has made a few mistakes but I reckon he will put together a much more competitive team next season.
Smaller budget yes but he is or has been good when money is tight.

Thanks Cool, and there are clearly genuine reasons for concern.

But whether you are pro-wilder, anti-wilder, or agnostic, I presume we are all pro-United; so if (as I expect) our owners stick with him for next season, I would hope everyone gets behind him and the team. And doesn’t jump on the first bad performance in August (as arguably we did with Selles).

Even Wilder Mark 1 started that first season catastrophically badly before going on to get 100 points.

Not repetitive at all and thanks for doing these.
29 points dropped from winning positions is terrible, however how many points have we gained from losing positions. Anyone know?
