Any players you just liked, and didnt have any particular reason for liking them? One for me as a kid is Keith Gillespie

You think there was no particular reason for liking keef!?

I'd go with Luton Shelton. Now that is left field. I even knew he was shit but always felt he had a big moment in him.

Laurent D'Jaffo.

Me and a few of the lads I knocked around with at the time used to follow him around chanting Dee Ja Dee Ja Dee Jaffo at him in training and we would excessively praise his every move.
It was done ironically at first but he found it very funny and would stop to chat to us from time to time. It was nice of him to give us the time of day despite the fact that we were an annoying bunch of 16 year old cunts.

I'll always have a soft spot for Jaffs. He's a lovely bloke.

Wasn't any particular reason at the time didnt really appreciate good and bad too much
Ooooooh? You're a junior blade? Well I remember him being good for us and FANTASTIC at Newcastle.
You must have just subconsciously known how talented he was!

Vas Borbokis, will always remember his debut v Sunderland first game of the season, he destroyed them. Incredible talent that never truly achieved what he should have done at the Lane, probably because we were in big time selling mode ripping apart a team that had the ability to piss the league.

I personally wouldn't say he was an unusual favourite, but that's probably because I really rated him as a player and have had his avatar on more than one occasion. Super Vas! :)

Just about qualify as junior now getting away with my last kids season ticket by a month next season, dont remember him being one of the big names at the time but maybe that was just in my house

Petr Katchouo, weird player. Prem class, then useless and then pops up out of the wilderness against Bury or Oldham and bags a hat-trick.

I remember one season where Littlejohn and Terry Phelan were resurrected from Sky Sports masters football by Warnock infact that whole squad 2001? of lower league has-beens who were hard as nails was quite endearing.

Fair comment, I will pick D'jaffo then, useless most games, now and again unplayable. Place in my heart forever for his goal at the sty.

Len de Goey. The magnificence, the style, the elegance...of the top lip. And the best nickname of any Blades player, "Moose"

In my early days as a Blade and beginning to take notice, Jim Bone.

I always wanted Petr Katchouro to do well but it never really happened for him. I remember once at a corner he made his fingers into a V shape and poked a defender in both eyes at the same time.
