They didn't include goalkeepers. It did include the Republic Of Ireland which I don't really consider abroad (but I guess it is!). I've only included players I have seen.
1. Vas Borbokis, fantastic for us, best free kick taker I have seen for us. He was the first real attacking full back I had seen for us, a trailblazer I guess!
2. Enda Stevens, we've all seen how good he has been for us this season.
3.Roger Nelson, we got him when foreign players were still seen as exotic (even ones from Norway). A classy player, even if he made one mistake every game (© HodgysBrokenThumb ).
4. John Egan, should really be number three but didn't want to overweight my top three with current Irish players!
5.Jan Aage Fjortoft, one of the best goalscorers I have seen for us.
6. Paul Mcgrath, superb even though his knees had gone and he played hungover.
7. Tri Dellas, I loved him such a powerful player who was more skillful than he looked. Scored a couple of brilliant long range goals and helped Greece win the Euros 04.
8. Stephen Quinn, a great start in the Premier League and a reliable midfielder.
9.Jostein Flo, our superstar in 1993 who perhaps didn't quite live up to his reputation (hopefully Sander Berge will and will make this list in the future).
10. Michael Vonk, tough tackling borderline dirty centre half. You've been Vonked!!
Finally a question. Name two United players who were born in Germany?

Surely an import is a player you sign from abroad?

So Stevens, Egan, Fjortoft, McGrath, Quinn and Vonk don't count.

Chris Short is one of the players who was born in Germany.

Good point, although they put Roy Keane at number one yesterday! Yes, you're correct with Chris Short.

Didn't Gabrielli have a big hit with 'Dreams'!

Remember that next Zlatan kid we signed from Inter? Can’t even remember his name

For those of us a couple of years younger it has to be Alex Sabella. The fanfare of his arrival straight after the Argentina 78 World Cup and his football skills (even if he was nesh) lit up our darkest period. After Woody left he was my hero..... not that there were many others if any to pick from
Edit; Bollocks I missed the European bit
😆

Actually thought ten heuvel would be one of those strikers from abroad who would be great

I was wrong

Wasn't John Cutbush (right back, signed from Fulham mid/late 70s) born in Malta?

Has Dutch superstar Len de Goey been mentioned yet?

You can add Davy Gysbrechts and Axel Smeets to that list of shite. Albeit I do remember Donis looking half decent and Wirmola was supposedly quite good - I was too young to remember him properly.

A bit harsh with some of those – Goooose was certainly noticeable. And at least a few of these played – I’m not sure Justin Haber ever got a league game, whereas I can at least picture de Vogt making some sort of appearance.

Wirmola fits into the weird category of player that appeared from nowhere, briefly put in some decent games, then disappeared just as quickly as they arrived. He had a very good debut vs Wimbledon.

Harsh on Calve I liked him, too good a footballer on the ball for the football we served up back then, or Is my younger memories playing tricks on me

Didn’t he get injured scoring against Preston then we hardly saw him again?

Scored on his debut with a belter. Played to the end of the year but was very patchy. Disappeared when Adams arrived.
