There’s a nonsense gaining ground that Tufty isn’t very good at substitutions.

Who is saying that Wilder “isn’t very good at substitutions”? That’s very different to people simply demonstrating instances where he’s made a wrong decision with a substitution – something that Wilder to his credit has held his hands up to with the Bristol City game and Wednesday games as just two examples. There are many more other games where his decision-making has been spot-on.

You are right in what you say about Duffy. I wonder if we judge him now by higher standards than everyone else. I came away thinking he had had a stinker, and a lot of what he did failed to work. But not only was he instrumental in both goals, if you look at the highlights, just about every one of our main threatening attacks came through him - the attacks down the left early on, the Sharp 'penalty', 2 dangerous attacks down the right that almost produced goals in the second half... For someone who had a bad game, he created a lot.

Agree. A bit like Ifill in our promotion season in that even when the things don't always come off and it isn't really going for him, Duffy never hides and can always create a goal even on an off day. You notice a marked difference when he doesn't play.

#19 on this thread and #2 on the “Winning Ugly” thread are two recent examples.
