I can well imagine how that would have ended. I get the feeling that if challenged, he could come across as quite aggressive in his responses.

You are probably right...he does not like geing questioned but sadly he is going to get the criricism in the same way he got the praise and all the plaudits last year.

I wonder what he thought watching Shearer last night?

The interview with Monk, that Radio Sheff did (McCarthy who Wilder seems to not like) was very good and asked some really direct questions.

I do think someone needs to ask Wilder why last season it was about us and what we can affect where as now we seem more botheted about how we can stop teams.

He has evolved and changed things over the years so be interesting to see if he sees what fans, pundits and indeed the stats show- we dont even look like scoring goals from our current approach- and makes changes to how we approach things.

Stopping teams effectively was absolute key to us last season. A good few players had their peak season, helped by our promotion momentum and unknown style. We have to acknowledge that it's more difficult this season. With some key players missing, some past their best and some new ones trying to adapt we're trying to reestablish that defensive solidity we had last season. If we can achieve that, hopefully we can gradually improve our attacking as well. I don't think it would be wise of Wilder to make the above statements in public though.
