Adrian would have been a good signing. Somebody on here said so when it was possible.;)

Wilder is 'investing' in Henderson. Should he not make it at MU then we will be an obvious choice for him if we are still competing, say in 2 years time.

Young keepers make mistakes. Old keepers make mistakes too.

Papers yesterday saying Man U looking to sell him at the end of the season for £20 mill. With reported £50k a week wages we are currently paying in full I doubt we will be taking up an option to buy him at those prices.

Maybe that's if he does well !!

At this stage, maybe £4m?

Overall, our performance stood comfortably alongside the European champions. Tactically were were as sound as a pound, and it was one unbelievable error that cost us anything from this game. It's worth reflecting on where we've come from to where we are now. Hindsight is a lovely thing, but after three seasons of winning more than we've lost, the fact that we're losing games more frequently shouldn't come as a surprise. Like most of us, I despair at the sometimes small margins that have made a difference. But that was always going to be the case, and if there is an answer it's going to be down to ongoing investment over several years, simply to re-inforce and improve. This will include improvements to the training ground as well as the playing staff, which all supposes that somehow we remain in this division.

It's going to be a struggle no doubt, but so far we've not looked out of place. The key, as has been said far too often, is the retention of Wilder, but given the level of control he has over team affairs we can only hope his part in our upward climb continues. No one should be surprised that we're learning at a steep pace. It's often the way for newly promoted teams, but so far I'm leaning towards the perspective that with further investment in January we'll battle through and return as a Prem club next season. Wilder's right, there must be no let up in standards, the players need to take responsibility for those standards and in the process try and improve bit by bit. I've seen some of the comments calling for Wilder to rail in his comments about Henderson, but if that's what's needed to ensure the players maintain their individual and collective levels then our manager has my full backing. Top man is Wilder, and if he wasn't here we wouldn't be having this discussion.
