Underwhelmed

You could point that as many times as you like, it’ll still look shit. Bricks aren’t square. I thought they were badly laid but look at the bottom one.

They're not bricks, they're just a brick tile glued on (I saw them doing it one time). It really is poor workmanship. It's £35 and that's what it looks like. A few want taking off and doing again.

I bet the Polish did it.

Great innit?

I suppose no clever twat will recount the group docking some on here about the appointments of Wier, Adkins, Clough et al and the doubts people had regarding some of the flagship wank we've signed as 'the new hope'?

No one want to recount also the fervent defence of one Kevin Mccabe, despite many on here vouchsafing what a jupiter-sized fuckup he was, for several long years?

Perspective and context.

Oh great another thread resurrected to show how cleaver some are with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight

To be honest, I searched 'brick in the wall' for reasons shown above. This thread contained the words 'brick' and 'wall' and is titled 'underwhelmed'. So I haven't done it for any other reason than that.

Cobbler here , gutted to have lost wilder but going to you guys has eased the pain , it was no secret he wanted this job , he will get you promoted and if you want an example of passion check out his post match speech after notts county away on you tube .The bloke is a ledgend , good luck in your promotion ,would love to see him manage you in the prem

😍😍😍

I think you're being very generous describing that as pointing .

Smudging some mortar between some bricks would have been more accurate . :)

Once saw a lad who worked in McDonald's, attempting to repoint the wall at the Hillsborough store with an actual spatula. Why they thought a kid who worked on the tills could repoint a stone wall is beyond me. More so that they gave him a spatula.

Did they just decide to do it off their own bat?

Who knows? But my old man has got one for us and my brother. Not seen it yet but if its not up to my standards then I shall be waving my trowel at em.

I'll spin the record again.

Messageboards are a magnet for people who like to profess that they know more than others and reside on higher ground than others.

Bizarrely football forums also attract those who expect an Oxford level of debate.

The word you are looking for is visionary.

There are a handful of us out there 😉.

It’s all in dem 👀👍.

I was one of the prophets.

(I’ll ignore the threads though where I said Ricky Holmes and Samir Caruthers where going to be big players for us)

If you think this is bad, wait until Arsenal spend £60M on England International Louis Reed......

Haha don’t get these threads. Still funny, but no one on here could’ve ever expected this in 3 and a half years.

Still get pelters from my old housemate for calling Wilder an ‘rabbit in headlights’ after the Millwall draw.

Got to admit I was also underwhelmed with the Wilder appointment.

I think it’s because we were so ambitious appointing Nigel Adkins....he had a very impressive CV and will have been really expensive.
So I thought.....if Adkins hasn’t worked then nothing will work. Just thought we were cursed and doomed to failure and bad luck.
I’d accepted we were going to spend many many more years in crappy league 1 and become like a Bradford City.
Just assumed Wilder would be another Micky Adams... who was also a passionate Blade who loved the club.

The turning point for me was 15th Oct 2016.
I’d just witnessed us beat Port Vale 4-0 where we played like Barcelona and we actually had 4 goals disallowed.
After that match I felt emotional because it hit me that this team was so superior to the opposition that promotion was a 100% certainty.
That season in league 1 was the best football I’ve ever seen and I almost wanted the opposition to score first just to make it interesting.

I remember the post match interview after that Millwall game and Wilder looked ill.
He looked emotionally effected that we were bottom of the league and I just kept thinking it’s another Micky Adams scenario.

It was the only time in his tenure when I had doubts about the appointment... what a turning point that was.

We lost 2-1! JOC handball for a last minute pen if I remember right.

We were OK that day though - turning point for Wilder was in the game before - Coutts coming on at half time when we were 3-0 down to Southend. The Rolls Royce started to purr and the rest is history.

Just remind me again who gave PC that nick name ?
It’s not who you might think 😉.

Totally agree btw. The Genesis 😀.

I saw something like this on a thread at the time and went to find said video, which filled me with confidence we'd got the right guy. Then he released almost the entire first team and my opinion of him went up another notch.

Not so confident on the way home from the southend game mind you

Well I will be the one to stand in front of the guns and say it, I am not enthused by the appointment of Chris Wilder.

I don't for one second belive he would have been on the radar if he hadn't been a Blade, he has had a couple of good season's at Northampton, but a decade or so at Halifax and Oxford not really doing much.

I would on balance have given Adkins another season beyond any other realistic appointment, (apart from perhaps Warnock) The only way I can see us making a challenge for promotion next season is with a serious investment in six or seven quality signings, but that has been already ruled out and we are looking towards the academy, frees and the current squad.

I want to be wrong and maybe I am in an alcohol fuled maudlin mood, but I don't see us progressing in the near future at all.

:(

😂😂😂😂😂
