This links definitely bollocks because he gets nowhere near that muff side

Campbell:

“I can't thank the club, the fans, the manager, the staff, my teammates enough for everything they've done and how they've been with me since I've been here. I’ve enjoyed it here since the moment I came in.

“Everyone’s just been unbelievable with me. Players, staff, everyone. I feel right at home now, like I’ve been here for years. Everyone has been great with me, helped me settle in and ease into the group and the system. Anywhere I can play to help the team, I’m happy to do it.”

But I take holidays in Bournemouth ;)

What fee would we think is acceptable if we were to sell him?

He was out injured a lot at Stoke apparently. Just hope this present injury is not a recurrence of his injury there or a sign that he’s one of those players who is going to be another Brewster who can never put together a good run of games. Unless he is the latter we would be stupid to sell him with his goal scoring record so far. Yes another great signing by CW. His record for signing players on frees and small fees has been great. His problem has always been spending big money where his track record is poor. Brewster, McB (decent but we overpaid) Callum Robinson, Luke Freeman, Berge (again decent but overpaid).

Thing with him at Stoke was eventually the fans hated him and he didn't want to be there.

Wouldn't jump for headers, Wouldn't run for the ball, constantly "injured".

We've taken him to heart quickly and I think that'll work out for us and him, he'll want to pay that back. He's a talent, just needs the motivation and I think CW can give him that

This boy has been superb since he came in. He's a natural goalscorer, he has that instinct of being in the right place at the right time and you can't teach that. He may need looking after game wise but if that's the case that's what we need t9 do.

But the caveat to that is the Players he wanted he didn’t get. I think Wilder’s first list in the premier league is excellent. He identified multiple players that values have increased 5 Fold.

It’s when don’t get the main targets struggled.

McB and Berge was excellent under Wilder in the PL. With Jok and Hecky they never reached their heights again. The usual theme of Hecky having players injured constantly didn’t help.

McB in Wilders second stint was one of the most inform strikers in England / Europe.

Ramsdale we sold for big profit. The myth about wilders signings in the PL being poor is based on 15 games in the second season and Hecky injuring them all. The first season with Wilder’s signing we finished 9th!

Okay now this is verging very close to being in the territory of fantasy. We finished 9th for a myriad of reasons. Some of it was down to new signings, but the bulk of the best performers in that season- Fleck, Stevens, Lundstram, O'Connell, (I could go on)- were not new additions.

Of the signings that Wilder made in our two consecutive premier league seasons, you've actively chosen to ignore, amongst others:
Luke Freeman, Callum Robinson, Jack Rodwell, Michael Verrips, Ravel Morrison, Richairo Zivkovic, Panagiotis Retsos, Ethan Ampadu, Oliver Burke & Rhian Brewster. There are some other players who appeared promising initially, but completely collapsed, such as Mousset.

Very weird anti-Heckingbottom revisionism considering that he was able to get a tune out of several players that Wilder was not- and McBurnie's most profilic goalscoring stint came under Heckingbottom- not Wilder. If scoring 4 goals in the 18 league games he was in the squad for under Wilder last season makes you one of the most in-form strikers in Europe then that's an incredibly low bar. It was under Heckingbottom that players like Berge became consistent; and let's not forget that it was Heckingbottom who was responsible for breaking in one of the best players we've had at this club in a generation.

You’ve just compared Mcburnie in the Premiership to Mcburnie in the championship under 2 different managers. Same for Berge and Illiman was brought in under Wilder. If you remember he was discussing anew contract with Wilder but Jok was the man who got him to sign few weeks later.

Your changing history and comparing apples and oranges.

We all appreciate what Hecky did for the club. But the change in level of our players under Wilder and Hecky is a big big contrast. It also happened the other way that players got considerably worse under Hecky.

You said McBurnie was one the most in-form strikers in Europe- something which is categorically untrue on any metric. I'm a big fan of McBurnie but it's ridiculous to suggest that he was one of the most in-form strikers going when he scored 3 non-penalty goals in half a season's worth of games.

Whilst Ndiaye was signed whilst Wilder was manager, Heckingbottom was the u-23s coach for the majority of Ndiaye's initial development at our club, and you can't overstate how much of a role he played in his meteroic rise between giving him his debut in 2020 and leaving us in 2023.

Which players got considerably worse under Heckingbottom? Unless you mean people like Fleck, Norwood and Stevens- in which case I'm not sure we can lay the entirety of the blame on the manager, as he's not really got too much control over the concepts of time and age.

Fair enough if you can tolerate a player who will never jump for a header.
Maybe his back prevents it ?

I mean, pretty sure a large amount of our fans thought Berge wouldn't challenge for headers either 😂

And it might have been, but what I got told by gf/her family was that "he must have vertigo" with how much he actively avoided challenging for them 😂

I was reading on X that Watford fans haven’t warmed to Jebbison he missed an absolute sitter and in shit in general and that coming from a club in the same league as us perhaps we’ve done well by getting shut.

And people were giving Brewster shit for that difficult chance yesterday:

I used to get the same bus to work as some of the academy lads got to Shirecliffe and he was always moaning about having to do fitness/strength work. A lad with a lot of talent, very little application or bravery.

Jebbison?

Always appeared to be a lad that lacked heart and desire.
Any interview footage you see of him he looks pained to be having to have the conversation.
The last person you'd want with you in the trenches. Osula had a lot more character.
