Transfer policy/player turnover

We already had one of, if not the best, wingers in the division....Cotterill. Last season it wasn't a coincidence that our upturn in form coincided with him being brought back into the side and still Blackwell won't start him. Instead he's playing a centre forward on the wing. Can't he see Cotts has to start?

My best 11 at the minute would be Bunn, Walker, Morgs, Killa, Taylor, Cotts, Monty, Quinn/Howard, Treacy, Ward, Ched...playing 442. I'd have Hendo on the bench to bring on if we need some extra muscle although to be honest he's done nothing to deserve being driopped but Ched and Ward are scoring and Ward offers us the extra pace.

Naysmith back in for Taylor when fit and a top central midfielder signed before the deadline would see that team go up.

yer sorry about snapping foxy bad day

Just wish we would start with cotts and put ward with Henderson or ched.

Don’t think we get the best from them starting together may click soon who knows.

The way I see it is in midfield were stronger but in defence we are very diluted and this concerns me greatly.

And with sharp out of favour leaves 3 strikers don’t like this situation too much as well

then we have the missing midfield playmaker but we see this argument every season

i liked dyer shame we didnt get more out of him before his loan ended could have done with that pace at wembely

Foxy another sign of the 'muddled thinking' in our transfer policy is we sign 3 wingers in the summer, Treacy, Reid and Little. We play one of em whilst at the same time playing a centre forward, we already had, on the other wing in the meantime leaving our best winger on the bench!!!

did they ask blackwell on radio sheffield about the french midfielder that apparently us and galatasary are after ?

We arranged for him to come over for a trial but he didn't turn up so nothing doing.

I think Blackie is often guilty of picking the 11 players he wants and then trying to find a way of piecing a plan together. Having said that, Wardy has done OK in the last few games and Cotts has had an impact from the bench so it's not working out too badly.

He wants Hendo and Evans to work and also likes the energy of Ward so I can't see it changing for the foreseeable, injuries/suspensions aside.

Regarding Henderson and Evans, is Blackwell inspired by Blackburn's Premiership winning strikers Sutton and Shearer? He seems very keen on them, and hopefully they'll start getting more goals between them.

IF they don't I hope we won't waste too much time in sticking with them.

Possibly, those 'in the know' have likened Chedders to Shearer when he started. Hendo has never been prolific so it's obviously vital that he contributes and brings Evans or whoever into the game. Still early days and I don't think either are 100% match fit yet and as KB has already said they're the best strike pairing in the division, you can't see him changing anything.

Most teams have more pace up front than those two, but hopefully we'll make it work. As you see they are probably not quite 100% match fit yet.

Speaking of that Blackburn team, they had Wilcox and Ripley on the wings, as types I think Treacy and Cotterill would be very similar. In midfield you can call Monty a poor man's Batty. Tim Sherwood was a tall, strong, ball playing midfielder, something we're still missing.

Seems to be working though no? Jamie Ward is either scoring or creating at the moment. He's played on the wing before and allows us to change styles and formations without making a sub.

I'd have started the season with Reid, given that he impressed me so much pre-season, but you can't argue with the productivity of Ward at the moment. Little has been injured.

Foxy, it is working, but my point is why sign all these wingers if we're gonna put a centre forward on the wing. Even if they were on frees we could have used the wages to strenthen other areas of the team. Don't get me wrongg I'm not a Blackwell slagger and I think he's actually done a good job but it seems to me our transfer policy is a bit haphazard. Maybe thats todays game but it seems to result in us havign a large squad of players thats top heavy in some positions and light in others.
