So with a very small chance of making the playoffs, I vote for squad rotation and to put the kids in to play some low pressure games between now and the end of the season wi nowt to lose. This experience could be really valuable in the long run.

Anyone else agree?

PS is Deigo injured?

Deigo is apparently injured according to Clough interview earlier in the week.

I agree in principle, but while there is a chance, however small, we should still be aiming to catch Peterborough, and this means playing our strongest squad. If it becomes mathematically certain we cant reach the play offs, then perhaps throw a few kids in, but not many, I for one, and i'm sure Clough is the same, want to win every remaining game.

Clough said he wants to win all the remaining games and will be playing a full strength squad. He says he is respecting the league and other clubs. He does not like weakening his team and said he only did it against Rotherham due to the cup semi final.

I was a bit surprised he didn't name a couple of youngsters on the bench last night in case it presented a good opportunity for another ten minutes.

I suppose the other more senior pros have done nothing wrong. Although, for me, Paynter offers little of value. Perhaps Khan and Dimaio will be on the bench on Monday.

I would have liked him to play some of the kids, but he is right to respect the league. Having said that, it didn't effect the result playing kids v Rotherham :)

Fair play to him for that. It wasn't that long ago (7 years! Where have they gone?) when we were complaining at Liverpool & Man Utd for fielding weakens teams.

The kids will get a chance to go away, get stronger and fitter and come back for pre-season. We play Tranmere on Monday who are still in thick of it. Like what Superblades said, we owe it to other teams to field our strongest team unless we are playing a team with nothing to play for.
