Just over 12,000 sold up to the deadline date. How does it compare with last season ? Thoughts!!

We could sell 30,000 season tickets and Len would be able to put a negative spin on it. 12,000 tickets is just less of a challenge to find something negative.

That's not bad, but isn't that about 6,500 that haven't renewed? I can't see there many paying full price in all honesty...

We sold a large amount last season as we still had the chance of a premier league place.
I think there will be another 3/4 thousand renewals, lets face it I am the biggest hypocrite going just now as ther was no way I was going to renew while Blackwell was in charge:rolleyes::cool::confused::mad:

I think Birch said that we'd sold there or there abouts 12000 at the forums which was two weeks ago, baring in mind the rip roaring performances against Swansea and Ipswich plus the fact the Pigs went down to add to the feel good factor it is a tad disappointing.

I've been a season ticket holder since 1986 but said at christmas that unless things improved i would not be renewing, i remained adamant about that. Can i afford £300 to renew? No. Could i afford £300 pounds to renew last season? No. But i scrimped and scrounged and renewed because of the what if factor. Was the purchase value for money? Probably not. Some of the football this season has been truly awful, and some of the games we've had to sit through have been absolute torture. So what will i be doing come the first home game in August? I'll be sat in that same bleedin seat again after once more scrimping and scrounging and renewing last week, CURSE YOU BLADES!!!!!

(this applies to every season since 1986 and most likely every season yet to come) :D

UP THE BLADES, COYRAWW, HEY WHAT IF?

You don't know what you've got till its gone.I miss my Saturday afternoons with the lads. That and my family are the 2 things i realy get home sick about.

I went in on Wednesday and added a new season ticket holder to our party. I asked how the renewals had gone and they say they are on target to match last seasons.

Are they selling new season tickets now? I was told end of May/early June

You know if you don't get one we'll have a banging season.

Last time i didn't have one was the 2002/03 season when we got to 2 semis and play off final. Needless to say i scrimped and scraped for the half-season ticket in December that year.

Please Matt, don't get one this season then.

Spoke with the ticket office and they couldn't confirm actual sales total to date as they hadn't been told. However, what the lady did say was compared to this time last season, they are only around 500 down. They have had a steady stream of new applications today, the first day of general sale. Her comment was that we are a little down on last year, but ahead of expectation for this year.

I asked if she knew whether we had gone past the 13k mark and she said we had!

I suppose the problem was never going to be the first 13-14k. the problem was always going to be the last 5k or so.

If we manage to hit 16k or above, I supposed I will be satisfied under the circumstances.

A couple of decent signings might just give sales a timely boost

COYRAWW!

Ah well , it could be worse...(from Pigs website):

Owls reduce season ticket prices
Posted on: Fri 07 May 2010

Sheffield Wednesday is pleased to announce a reduction to season ticket prices for all adult supporters who have not yet committed for the 2010/11 season.

This decision comes on the back of the club's relegation to League One and with adult season tickets now up to £30 cheaper for next season if purchased before the end of May.

More than 9,000 Wednesday supporters bought 2010/11 season tickets before April 9, demonstrating outstanding backing of the club even though it was not clear at that point which division the Owls would be competing in.

Those fans who have bought season tickets since April 10 will have the difference in price refunded(details below).

Supporters who bought an adult season ticket prior to April 10 will receive 1,000 SWFC TeamCard points, equivalent to a £10 spend on Sheffield Wednesday merchandise in the Owls Megastore, these points will be credited when the new season cards are dispatched, so make sure you register your card at the TeamCard website.

So, the pigs who wisely held off from buying get up to £30. The fans who were "demonstrating outstanding backing of the club" by buying early get 1000 Nectar points.

What an utter joke Strapon is, and thank God for K McC.

^^^^^^

this can't possibly be true? That would be outrageous, surely?

'Fraid it is. (Well, not afraid, actually. Deliriously happy!)

Don't think you can go direct to the article but go here, click 'Click here to enter swfc.co.uk' and it's under 'Latest headlines' (Owls reduce season ticket prices). Or, this may take you to the article.

Good, innit?

Vote Strafford. Get Mr. Bean,

After 25 years of travelling down from Tyneside I'd promised myself, even before this season started, that it was going to be the last.

I had said this before but the prospect of Blackwell's tactics have made it a real possibility this time. Its not so much that the football is bad but the sense that we could and should do so much better.

I suspect that many others are in the same boat, though clearly not the 17.21 when it arrives in Newcastle.

Make it another one......go on.

We've got a string of new players to look forward to - even if they're shite we can kid ourselves otherwise.

I think the football has improved towards the back end of the season - in fact we haven't hoofed it since Bristol City at home. I believe the penny might have dropped, but that doesn't mean he's capable of delivering good football. We'll see.

What's more, what else are Saturday's for?

Any non renewers should be very careful - the first season that I didn't have one was the last promotion season!!! Having one next season though.

Nick, you're always telling people to be careful, are you some sort of Health and Safety fetishist??

The nagging doubt though Alcho is we do seem to play decent stuff under KB when the pressure is off ... ie when he took over from Robbo and when the play-offs were just about impossible but when the points on offer actually mean something you can see KB referring to type again.

I have renewed after saying I wouldn't its a religion but I can understand people not doing to watch the KB "style".

Have you taken the plunge yet Raul ?

Still not renewed, still no intention of doing so. I'll still go, however with working away a lot and not seeing my family all week I'll pick and choose.

Fraid not Chings. A number of different reasons rather than one "that's it" one but I'll not be doing so now.

I've said the same, which is why I haven't got too excited about how we've played in the last few games.

No, I just think that rash, knee jerk reactions at times of disappointment usually end up in tears.
