Once a Blade, always a daft ****
I'm not really bothered if we find a replacement or not this week, Walker can play there if necessary:fishy:
More concerned about beating Reading on Tuesday night
Cue Andrew Davies anyone?

Presumably what hasn't helped is that we haven't had a reserve game for nearly 2 months, which would have been the ideal way to improve his fitness.
There wage bill certainly is less than ours, however we certainly have a considerably higher turnover then they do (close to three times I think).
Why would our turnover be 3 times higher than theirs?, Just wages ?
It is cashflow, pure and simple. We needed the money - I can't even see why that's difficult to grasp when we've got to find £4.5m before we start at zero in the current financial year.
We have kind of gone off the point here, but it really is shit or bust at the moment. I;ve said this in another thread, but I think it's important to I'll say it again ......
Blackwells tactics are based on grinding teams down and nicking a win. It's dull and dreary, but more often than not it works. His whole system is based on being SOLID! If we lose that then we'll finsih mid table. The record of winning when we go in front and losing when we go behind backs this up. Last season we had the best defensive record in the leage and best away record and it was all about not conceding. With a back line of Walker (or Naughton last year) Killa Morgs and Naysmith we had probably the best defense in the league. Seip looked a (fairly) adequate replacement for Kilgallon, but now he's out for 6 weeks.
Notice how our good form this season has been when we keep it tight? I hope KB notices this and does something about it.

Sadly, signing Fortune indicates the money from Killa will be banked.
I'd rather has a manager who realises it is too risky relying on the defence and therefore looks to score a few more. I know KB doesn't purposefully say 'only score one goal lads' but when the solid defence has gone surely he has the means to react and set his sides up a bit differently.
You've got more chance of being bitten by a lettuce than Blackwell noticing a problem and doing something immediate and incisive about it !!We have kind of gone off the point here, but it really is shit or bust at the moment. If we are to have any chance at the playoffs this season we need a competent left back, eg Kallio and a competent centre half (with a bit of pace preferably) to partner Morgan. And we need them now!!Just looking at the fixtures and the next few weeks is going to be a very difficult period. 3 weeks of back to back Saturday and then Tuesday fixturs will take it's toll on us. Couple of potentially tricky games in there (particuarly Forrest and West brom away).
We need another CB KB!!!!!!! Work your magic!?

(although I understand that the male lettuce can be quite ferocious in the breeding season)
We will "make do and mend" and keep fingers crossed, as we have done for the last 12 months.
