Some comments from other fans from a new kit thread from another football forum...

"That's a pretty nice looking kit tbf

"Thought teletext was switched off years ago?!

"What's the back of the Sheffield United kit like?
If it's also striped then its a wonderful effort. If its just a big empty patch like Sunderlands then it's ruined."

"THATS how you do it adidas

"Marvellous"

"If I were a Sunderland fan I'd be fuming at adidas' respective efforts for them and Sheff U."

"What the fuck is teletext holidays? In 2017

Seriously! Great kit but fuck sake"

"Teletext as a sponsor is fucking great, now we just need Paints, Corned Beef, Health Promotions and various car accessory companies to get in on it as well

Fucking better than betting companies or some Chinese fuckers

"100%. At least its a bit unique, better than fucking Boylesports or Bet365 or whatever."

Fucking Hell!
I've been waiting for page 200 to load for bloody ages :(

Think yourself lucky Ken. I've been wanting one last look at the top of league 1 before it resets. It's 3/4.

I keep getting to 1/4 (top of championship), losing patience so putting tele on for a bit and by time numbers circle back round to 326 it's chuffing 4/4 again!

Good sponsor, next season is Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

PRESS RELEASE: Sheffield United is pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Acorn and their BBC Microcomputer System which will see their logo displayed proudly on our new 2018/19 home and away kits, and our ticketing and administration systems replaced by state of the art* BBC Micros.

Teletext was quality it was soccer Saturday in 8bit. Nowt finer than sitting there refreshing fuck out of it too keep upto date.names like Katchuro and Starbuck remember "watching" the 6-3 Luton game on teletext.
As for the "in-vision" live score updates. Mind blowing. Watch TV and get latest scores at the same time!

I remember going in the Sportsman once in norton lees on a Saturday afternoon and there were a handful of blokes glued to teletext more than you would be to soccer Saturday now. Not saying a word, just waiting for the screen to flick back to Utd. And again. And again. Waiting for the goals to flow.

Teletext was the name for the medium. Oracle was the teletext on ITV, the one in the BBC was called Ceefax.
Oracle was a company who provided the teletext service for ITV and Channel 4 until the end of 1992 when it lost the franchise to Teletext, a different company providing more or less the same service, so saying Oracle was better than Teletext is perfectly valid (although untrue, as Oracle never had Bamboozle).

Teletext Holidays itself existed for nearly 20 years before it went internet-only, so the brand is strong enough to not need renaming, even though the medium it gets its name from is obsolete.

This is the game I most associate with watching on teletext

Laying on settee ill; but feeling slightly better cos Blades were 3 up (if i remember correctly) after about 80 mins. Then in last 10 mins each time the page refreshed Middlesbrough had pulled a goal back - gutted.
