The one that quotes Jack Hunt admitting they need a miracle (winning every game) to do so?
The pigs can only get a possible 79 points if they win every game, surely even the most deluded person on earth can see they aren’t going to get in the playoffs?

In fairness 79 points would have got into play-offs for last few seasons and would have missed out by a point last season. No-one is saying they will - not even their player - which is why I found Tom Bott’s post a little strange

If there was a story about a tree falling, Blades hooligans would be to blame. It would have been diseased as well as falling on a basket of abandoned Coventry supporting orphaned kittens, all suffering kidney damage and covered in spittle.
and punched in the kidneys for good measure :D

but you get more points for 0-0? don't you?? you mean they 'lied'! :D

I'm going to write an article about how limited my chances are of winning the jackpot on the lottery this week.

Of course it is possible, the odds at 14 million to 1 don't preclude the possibility.

I wonder how many people would be interested in such a story ?

I may include some poor grammar, spelling, and also include a photo of someone other than myself to make the article more interesting.

Perhaps ask the person who wrote it?

I thought I'd ask our resident Star defender. Your response answers the question though. By the way, when is The Star going to do an in depth investigation into the financial situation at SWFC, it's association with Doyen and the potential influence Doyen has/has had on the club in the last couple of years? I'm sure you're well positioned to find out and give us an indication as to when we can expect this to hit the front page.

There's some interesting information out there that could help, maybe start by interviewing former Owl, Dan Petrescu about his experiences?

Oh, and does The Star have a telephone number for D-Taxis in it's classifieds?

I suppose if you were really desperate for a few hundred clicks at £0.001 each, you might deliberatelyu get it wrong knowing they'd be a post on here and plenty would click through.

That would suggest a Machivelian genius at work though, so I prefer the incompetence theory.

If a tree falls in a wood, do the Star do a major article about it and how much mess was left on the verge afterwards?

I really would like to think it's incompetence but it is just click bait and they know it will lead to a thread such as this. Threads on this forum are viewed thousands of times which is why I think the result of the vote should stand regarding the removal of links to The Star website.

After the article regarding the last Sheffield derby, claiming that the game was being held at Hillsborough on Thursday evening and that a good pub for a pre match drink was the New Barrack Tavern (Hillsborough).
With Sheffield United hoping to avenge their neighbours for a defeat in the first derby game.

I concluded that the Star was vying with Viz magazine to provide some form of humour.

maybe Big Vern over at Crab Industries may have something to say about this new competition ?

Wrong. Unbelievably so

It's company policy to big up the Pigs. The board make all the many United supporting staff at the Star write this rubbish to upset the fan base with threats of redundancy. The poor sod in charge of putting photos to articles is particularly picked on, despite being poorly sighted and still at school. And they make them wear Wendy shirts to work.

Give over, so the article last year about reasons why Blades fans should cheer on Sheffield Wednesday in the play-offs wasn't complete click bait?

As your definition of clickbait is apparently make mistakes so it gets posted and highlighted on S2, then no it wasn’t

There we were Sunday evening, Grandson staying over .... aged 8

We were in negotiations over me buying him a New Xbox One Game ... well, him mumping, and me saying No

He bounced downstairs saying he had found a Code to download it for 50% off ..... I sez, get the Code and we will have a go

10 minutes later he comes into the room looking down and out, I asks, have you got it?

Nah, he says ..... it was just clickbait .... aged 8 :)

Negotiations are in deadlock

I can report outrage at the anti-Blades bias in the film Early Man, which I've just been to see with the grandkids. The ending of the film [spoiler alert] depends on a last-minute penalty save by a PIG in goal. Boycott now! Seriously, if you want a football-themed kids film for the holidays, Early Man is good entertainment.

Genuine question, if Chesterfield, as looks likely, drop out of the league, will coverage be downgraded by R Sheff and the Star? I can't recall if Donny were treated as a non-league side when they dropped down to the conference.

The Star have outdone themselves this morning with their retweet of James Mitchinson, suggesting that Jeremy Corbyn’s note about going after the tax exiled billionaires that control the likes of the Mail and Sun, is some anti-democratic stance that will see local newspapers shut down (nothing to do with the poor quality of the content of course).

Totally hysterical and inappropriate to be peddling this. Perhaps the fact that Johnston Press print the Daily Mail is the reason for the outburst?

I read that with a Partridgesque voice in my head...

2m 08sec onwards....
