Stand up Jose Baxter!
Don't get me wrong I am as critical about Jose as anyone else and I feel like I have every reason to be because his inconsistency is nothing short of frustrating. The think that frustrates me most about him though his when he puts in these shifts every now and again in which he looks a decent player.
He comes on today and his contribution as well as Sammon's transformed the game and turned it on it's head. We saw a game from Baxter though that we would be more than happy to see every game. His work rate was spot on as he got back to sit in front of the back four and mop stuff up but he also looked to get the ball forward. He played an absolute blinding ball to tee up Billy for the second and then at the death he clears it off the line for us to save a point.
What is it about this lad? He has so much potential but he can't replicate his good performances on a weekly basis. Is it fitness? Does he need to come into a game a bit later when the tempo has dropped? What is it?
