I've only managed to catch us at three games this season; Yeovil, Wycombe, and today, and on all three occasions we've been utterly woeful. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but on the evidence of those three games (against shit opposition) we are nowhere near being a top 6 side.

Maybe you have been a bit unlucky, but I reckon it also shows how crap this league really is.................

6 wins from first 9 games, 2 from the subsequent 8.

A case of the pain of relegation wearing off rather quickly from those that suffered it and they've reverted back to type ( I see an increasing number of posters reporting lack of apparent desire again) or just down to harder games?

You do seem to pick 'em :)

I would suggest the posters who say that aren't going to games. Desire and effort isn't the issue which I think is quite obvious

Lack of balance, and all round lack of ability are an issue. But despite the doom and gloom, you can easily argue that if we'd got a decent keeper in, we'd have saved enough points to be in an automatic spot. I find that incredible given how poor we look.

We will have set backs, Charlton lost in similar fashion at Stevenage, just have to get on with it
We lost due to a Quinn mistake wrong footing us yesterday, in fact most of our set backs are self inflicted, not down to better opposition
We just have to cut these out, still missing Morgan , purely for the organisational side, and Williamsons back next week which plugs a few gaps

Glad to see you are coming around to my way of thinking Highbury owd mucker. Must be all that real ale (though were you not drinking coke yesterday??)

I'd say we pretty much deserve to be where we are. I belive the league table lies and that is well document. However we are better than most in this division. Huddersfield and Charlton are clearly better, but the rest I am not so sure. I've seen us 7 times this season and think we will finish top 10, possibly top 6. I'd have us on a similar level to Wednesday and Preston, but am not sure if there is much between us and MK Dons, Stevenage, Notts County, Hartlepool etc. We're on a poor run of form that is for sure. And early season starts, look like villains now. We need to go back to basics: being professional, solid and passing the ball around.

You've certainly chosent your games owd pal :)

Sticks and stones may brake my bones but Sheffield United always hurt me. I can see whats comming with this team just manage the play offs then loose the final to the F++++++g PIGS. The highlight of my depression. Well done, well done keep the same team keep on playing like you do would rather get religated than loose such a play off.

Agree. Btw it took me a moment to place you when you said hello shortly before kick off yesterday. I think the last time was Charlton away boozing in The George! I've only managed three games this season too. Wycombe, yesterday and Orient and Orient was an equally woeful display. That is not a promotion winning side. If we make the play-offs by default because the remainder of the league is so poor we won't win in the play-offs. The team lacks many things but it is clearly lacking bottle also. We always concede late on and seem to wilt when the pressure is on. Other teams have more desire and that's unforgiveable.

i did think you looked a bit confused!:) that charlton game incidentally was the last game i went to where we actually played well. What's that, nearly 3 years ago now? Or are you talking about the one the year after when greenwich got barred from entering?

lets look at a league table from exactly 1 year ago
after 16 games
peterbor were 8th southampton 10th, peterboro had lost 7 games , southampton 6

so being 5th is hardly out of it, is it
swindon were 13th and bristol rovers 15th but got worse

Think that's one and the same game? Greenwich was barred from the Saturday game 5-2 victory. I think there was a midweek 3-0 win too but i didn't make that. Incidentally I spotted Greenwich in the Wetherspoon's in Stevenage yesterday. I don't have to go back that far as I went to the 2-0 win over Leeds in April at the Lane and we played very well that day. Don't get to BDTBL much now either but the number of away games in and around London is handy but sometimes you do wonder if its worth it given the ineptitude on the pitch!
