this season 2009/2010 - we finished 8th - like in 2003/2004

8th in the second tier appears to be our favourite position in recent years - we finished there in 94/5, 98/9, 03/04, 04/05 and 09/10.

Also interesting is the fact that we have finished between 2nd and 10th in the second tier in all but 3 of the last 16 seasons

Its not an omen...its interesting but irrelevant....and has no bearing on what will happen to us next season. That will be dictated by the attitude and policies of the management at Bramall Lane and their ability to assemble a decent squad contrary to the rubbish they have served up this season. I appreciate the optimism of some but there are too many "ifs" and until I see all the bluff and bluster translate into some action I will remain pessimistic. Look behind the "spin" for some substance.
