So its the start of a new era at the Lane, here is my wish list

1) Promotion next season
2) Being in the news for the right reasons
3) Becoming a club that doesnt always seem to be embroiled in some controvesy or other
4) Fair treatment by refs again
5) Playing open passing football with two strikers and two wingers, plus the rest of the team of course.
6) Winning the lottery

I want a committed manager who treats the club as his passion, not just a step on the management career ladder.

I want good, but effective, championship football which leads to league domination and promotion. But if not, I want no more in-fighting between impatient Blades who want instant success without seeing the work that has to go into this.

I want the West Ham thing to be sorted quickly and with a fair outcome.

I want a positive atmosphere to sweep the Lane and Blades fans to sing loud and proud.

And I want better catering at the Lane next season!!

The Future - Garlic Bread!

I want a Manager who is as strong in defending himself and the team as NW but can also get the team playing consistantly with good tactics and not just chop and change the side week in week out.
I want Promotion as Champions! We deserve a trophey.
I want to stuff the Pigs at least 3-0 in both games next season
and I want everyone to get behind the new manager (whoever he is) and not start winging if anything goes wrong at first.

I would like a mountain bike with 18 gears, a scalextric, a subbuteo game and harry potter on DVD.

seriously, the prospect of fresh tactics and decent football is starting to make me look forward to next season.

I just hope we don't end up with Mike Newell, Peter Reid, Glenn Roeder or Micky Adams.

I want a manager who will unite Blades up and down the country, rather than polarising opinion and creating dangerous divides.

I want a manager who will get the Blades playing like the big club that they are.

I want a manager who will be able to sign big names, and get the best out of them.

I want a manager whom fans of other teams will have to respect, because he's just that good.

I want a team that represents the very real ambition and future of Sheffield United Football Club - and any player that's not completely committed to get out and find their football elsewhere.

I want to go to the first match of the new season in the Championship knowing that we've got everything we could possibly need to make a decent fist of it, in what could be the most important season in Blades history, and with all the fans 100% behind the squad, the club, and the PLC.

So, not much then! Having been a Blade for 28 years, I doubt I'll get any of what I want, but I'll still be red and white!

I DON'T want Billy Sharp to go to Hillsborough and him to score against us in the derbies 'cos if he does go you can bet your bottom dollar he'll bang one in - and most of my mates, including the Mrs, are Wednesday fans and I'm scared! Whatever happens, I'm looking forward to a new manager, the new season and a new era.

Thank you Neil, you're in the history books now but the time has most definitely come for a change.
