2023: The new season buzz was declining when the Ndiaye and Berge rumours started, then disappeared when they left.

Hamer brought back a bit of buzz, particularly his goal against Forest.

The Tottenham game really pissed me off but there was still a bit of optimism. The Newcastle game saw to that.

It got worse and worse, then Mcatee dropped it in the top corner after Wilder came back, we beat Brentford, and I really thought we had a chance! Again, a few piss poor results saw to that and every game became a chore where I felt like I had to watch it, I didn't actually want to watch it. By the end of the season I found myself turning off at half time and doing something better with my afternoons/evenings.

BUT!

2024: The buzz is officially back! The signings have all been brilliant, the first two games have been great, and after a long 15 months or so I'm genuinely looking forward to the next game. I should probably grow up at some point (I'll soon be turning 40) but it's nice to have the optimism back and enjoy football again.

I might even make the 400 mile round trip to BDTBL and get my eldest to his first game too. I can't wait!

Let's hope you're right Nedski. Too early for me to start counting my chickens, but the signs are there. A bit of personnel tweaking, good recruitment, and ensuring that Wilder's on top of this 24/7.

Oh, and before I miss the opportunity, big Harry at the centre of our defence is going to make such a difference to how we perform.....could be the signing of the season.

I wouldn't call it a buzz yet. More a slight hum where you can't quite place where it's coming from and it ends up as a story in the local paper with others claiming to hear it too.

Never too old mate! Get giddy, life’s too short.

If one win against Brentford gave you belief that we could survive, then you need to see a psychiatrist.

You're obviously letting the highs get too high, and probably also the lows get too low.

It's not good for your health and wellbeing.

Wilder has done a cracking job. How’s he’s got the players playing seemingly so coherently after so much change is beyond me!!

Need two or three more in IMHO then we’re in the hunt for promotion.

UTB
He has done really well with next to no money just hope we don't lose any players before the window closes .There is every reason to be happy with the young 'uns coming through to . Would not be worried if i saw some of those on the team sheet either

And gone within 45 mins against a piss poor side, we don't have a prayer if we can't put away teams like that.

You were saying!

Because it's one game. I think some of you enjoy days like this so you can moan yourself to sleep. Yeah it's disappointing but one game doesn't define the season like beating Preston didn't either.
It’s only 1 game your correct. No need to panic yet. Wait 10 games then I start to make judgements. But that was horrendously bad against a very very poor side

While the buzz isn't necessarily back, I'd say the fact we're unbeaten in 3 league games while our team of strangers is still in the process of gelling, is certainly a positive sign.

I'd say we're at a "fridge hum" right now, and I'm optimistic a proper buzz isn't too far away.

Sorry it’s still defrosting

We’re not at rampant rabbit in a box of Lego kind of buzz (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it) but I’m confident that when the team gels we’ll look quality. I doubt we’ll be consistent enough to get near the top two at any point but I could see this team having a late pop at the playoffs. At the very least, we’ve got 5-6 players who we’ll really enjoy watching. Just need them all to have a good match at the same time!

I'll decide by end September. Some tough butty good games coming up. Next Sunday against Watford will be our hardest yet and finish the month away at Portsmouth with some very winnable games between

We looked very good in patches yesterday so I'm not worried at all.

We've got a long way to go in my opinion.
We run out of steam very quickly, which didn't happen with Wilders teams previously, and thats a concern.
We definitely need to sort out our defence too, as Trusty is just shit, thats the politest way of saying it unfortunately, Gilchrist is getting better every week, but we still need a RB and CB atleast, and we definitely need better options up top, as Moore looks cumbersome and slow, Mcburnie would have a field day this season in this team.

Fitness has been a concern for years now ridiculous that we can’t sort it out - unprofessional

We are very light in the striking positions and I don’t see any of our current ones getting 15-20.

I’m bored to tears of watching us pass it around the edge of the 18 yard box instead of being more positive.

We don’t take enough shots off and as a result not enough shots on target …. Which means we don’t make the GK work hard enough if at all … this needs to change

This team has the makings of being like Danny Wilson’s 2012 team. Hoping someone like Cannon could be our version of Ched Evans.

Think the football is going to be entertaining and when we click no team can match us but the defence looks too open at the moment. Pleased that at least we’re trying to play football instead of hoof.

Concerns are a lack of fitness late in games but obviously this will come.

Also don’t think we have our striker situation sorted yet. Hoping a more mobile striker like Tom Cannon will make a big difference.

It's the lack of a proper pre season and waiting late to sign players who also haven't had a pre season
It's going to take months to catch up to the levels of qpr and norwich so we are going to be hit and miss in the meantime

we need a pacy striker who can score we would have won that game yesterday with someone like sergeant in our line up didnt work for me with o'hare supporting moore he was inefective all game and lucky to last as long as he did
