that's it.. sixth place.. lose in semi final..
what a fucking shambles of a club we are
i'm not normally one to bash McCabe but he's done it with me now.. remember that bloke Blackman Kevin??

All part of the master plan for this season - we have got an extra home game probably with some TV money thrown in. Wouldn't get that with automatic promotion.

Not sure Blackman would've made a deal of difference, apart from wembley when it goes to penalties !

We got Forte in return - and even had to apologise to him for doubting it was a good deal!

As a supporter you have no say in who manages the club, how much they can (or can't spend), how much for players contracts, when the manager is relieved of their duties etc - all you do is turn up, pay your money and watch.

I wouldn't normally knock McCabe also but all those decisions above are made by him and I have to say he seems to have got it spectacularly wrong. There doesn't seem to be any formulated long term plan - where are we trying to get to, how are we going to do it, how much will the person in charge have to spend and crucially what is the contingency plan if it doesn't work. After the fans forum last week it seemed to be a case of history repeating itself - mistakes had been made, no more loan players, use the academy - we've heard all this before.

After today I too am bitterly disappointed but feel even more sorry for those who made the long trip down there. I'll support the team in the playoffs and if we get to final will support them in that as well but won't be holding my breath for a positive outcome but....but...you never know.

He would have scored that other pen on Tuesday and scored more goals in the time since he left. Stupid short term decision, especially with Miller getting injured. Unbelievably short sighted decision screwing us for pace, creativity and our top scorer. Those who believed and still believe selling Blackman was a good idea have something wrong with their head. How you can justify selling your top scorer at any level as “half of them were pens” is plain and simply retarded. Rubbish was it all about a Prem club coming in, he rejected a contract offer from Palace who were higher up then us and looking to be dead cert at that point to be a prem team next year. If he wanted to go he could have gone in summer. I wouldn’t be so pissed if miller wasn’t injured as I believe with him we would be up by now but what a complete and utter shambolic decision making no sense in business (Promotion would be worth more and could still sell him in the summer) and football terms.

if we had kept cofie and played him up front with forte we would have pissed the league.
would have been just like romario and bebeto all over again.

i really fear for us if we dont go up.

We are in a mess financialy & if gates drop dramatically next season, i think we may end up in financial meltdown.

Can't see anything else but the firesale of any (little) talent we have. Bye bye Long, Harry, De Girolamo

and Macdonald.. the reason noone would touch him is because of his injury issues.. he's played every game this season :/

His replacements, Forte and Poleon, have scored a grand total of one goal. I'm fairly certain Blackman would have managed more than that. A goal in two of those 4 consecutive home blanks could have made a world of difference.

i think some of you have missed the point of my post to Kevin (McCabe)
every season we sell our best player in the transfer window.. is it any wonder we never get anywhere??

I'll support them when we play Stocksbridge PS

NB: I don't think we will slip that far

It does'nt feel like its over for auto today, it feels like its over for the bastard blades. Just once I wanted them to surprise me today and go to Portsmouth meaning business. I should have known we would turn up and make twats of ourselves as per usual in a big game.

Well we'd have beaten Brentford 3-2 for starters !
No we wouldn't necessarily. If we had scored the first penalty the second one wouldn't have happened - the game would have restarted with a kick-off and everything would have panned out differently.

to be honest, i fear for us even if we somehow do go up.

what will change? maybe keep long and maguire, but are they good enough for the championship anyway?
its not like theyre gonna help us win the league or owt.
all the old duffers will go whatever happens

obviously i want us to go up, but lets be honest were fucked next season either way.
were still gonna be left with practically no decent players, still gonna have mccabe to "fund" our "signings".
only difference is we'll be in a tougher division with a crap team.

Yep, there's only one common denominator in all our failings over the last 8 or so years and its McCabe and until he packs his bags we are going nowhere, unfortunately when that time comes he will more than likely take our ground with him..

He might have scored his but he can't take all of them.

I can't believe your actually still banging on thinking Blackman's selling was a good deal. If we had either Miller or Blackman, we would be up by now, the fact that we lost Miller to injury just shows how moronic the top staff at the club are. We're not talking about just one penalty here, If Blackman was still at the club he would have scored at least 8-9 possibly 10 goals by now at the rate he was going.... and seriously who gives a fuck if half of them are penalties or came off his bell end, with him we would be in a better position then the waste of yet another year we find ourselves in now.

Yeah you're right actually, things could have panned out very differently, in fact if Blackman had been playing Murphy wouldn't have and the whole game would have taken an entirely different course and had a completely different outcome. I mean you've got to ask, would we have even got the first penalty?

I think you've put a whole new slant on the Blackman deal there Jock, one that many of us here on earth hadn't even considered !
