Getting rid of Blackwell is a bright point.

Blackie was nothing more than a Warnock clone. I will nick a post off another site and thank ROIBlade for their sensible contribution.

"We need a complete change of mindset from the board, to the new manager through to the fans. For too long we've lived up to this "Battling Blades" tag and it's what has held us back and the football has suffered as a result. Genuine chances on goal are few and far between as the midfield can't get the ball under control due to constant battles and aerial scraps, when they're not being bypassed. Players like Morgan, Monty and Henderson have become the archetypal Blades players due to their commitment and effort, which is needed and appreciated but became the template for what to expect from other players.

We've now got an opportunity to bring in someone to erradicate the past and start building for the future. Results may have to be sacrificed whilst the changes happen and the new manager will need the fans patience and support. Players who have let us down in the past need to be given a clean slate whilst the new manager tries to get the best of them and some players may be dropped if the new manager doesn't favour them.

The future is bright, the future is red and white but only if the fans want it to be. All effort and brawn must be a thing of the past and technical ability and keeping the ball on the deck must be the way forward of the club is doomed."
